Where To Find My Favorite Olive Trees

Hello there!  Remember when I posted the Farmhouse Trends for 2020 and one of the trends was the Olive Tree?  After that I had questions asking where to find my favorite Olive trees and stems.  Faux trees of course.  Certainly not real.  I won’t go there again.  Especially not after my Fiddle Leaf Fig debacle.  Well, today I thought I’d share exactly where to find this adorable floppy foliage.

The Olive Topiary

The first little cuties are from Ballard Designs.  I’d say they are actually topiaries which I think look good anywhere.  They come either 18″ or 28″ tall and in the pot you see in the photo.  I would probably paint the pot but I like that the trunk and color of the leaves look fairly close to the real deal.  Kind of expensive but on sale at the moment.

The Olive Tree

This one looks great because of the trunk and extra limbs.  It’s on Etsy and comes in various sizes.  It has fantastic reviews and sounds like it’s completely worth it.  This one has plastic olives on it but if you don’t like them, clip them off as you are fluffing it.  From the looks of the base I’d add it to my own larger pot or basket.

The Olive Bush

This one could be my favorite because of the extra stems at the bottom and how bushy it is.  In the right container (it comes in basic black plastic pot), it would look more like a bush than a tree.  Perfect for a bare corner.  The faux plant itself is roughly 24″ with an overall height of about 30″.  It also has great reviews and I think is the best bang for your buck.

The Olive Stem

If you only need stems to slip into a vase or jar, then I feel Hobby Lobby is the best choice.  I’m not talking about their “olive pick”.  It looks a bit comical but the “bush” stem looks much better.  It’s not quite as full as other stems found online but when they have the 50% off sale, it’s well worth it at $6.49 a stem.  Plus it’s also 24″ tall.

There you go.  I’ve listed the small to the tall and where to find them.

But remember, like with anything you buy that’s artificial/faux, you’ll have some fluffing and poofing to do.  I’ve found that with plastic and silk type leaves that you can use a hair dryer to heat them up a little so they’ll mold easier into something a little more realistic.  I’ve also used a hair dryer and a spoon to give stiff straight leaves a little bend and curve.  Works like a charm!

Love the hairdryer and spoon trick; didn’t know that one. Although I have a small boxwood Christmas type tree, olives have never come in my way–yet!

I adore boxwood in any shape and size but this year I’m venturing out and getting the little floppy Olive trees. Can you really ever have too many topiaries? Hmmm. Is that the equivalent to cats? I do call my youngest the crazy plant lady because she has a ton of plants. She thinks I should let her off the hook because they are real…Hahahaha. Nope
