Hey there! On Tuesday, you saw our soothing fall bedroom that had just a touch of fall. In that post I mentioned using candle rings in different ways like on pillows and simply turning the pillows around. There’s no need to go out and purchase more when you can ramp up the style from the stacks of pillows sitting in your closet. So today, I thought I’d show you just a couple of those easy ideas I mentioned.
Using Candle Rings on Pillows
That’s the pillow from Tuesday’s post and the one I’ll use today. I’ve simply turned it around and added different ribbon to it by using one of my favorite staples in decorating – double sided tape! I love it because if I mess up or change my mind, there’s no commitment. Win win!
First look – burlap ribbon, stretchy lace and a paper doily. You’re probably confused because I said use candle rings. Well all of this was around a lamp shade but I’ve used it around five pillar candles too. Tied them together with it and it sat on a platter. So I called it a “candle ring”. Get it?! LOL. Anyway, I know this ring doesn’t look very fall like but using a warm colored throw is fine since it’s still over 100 degrees here.
Here’s the same pillow with a candle ring. Same double sided tape and the fall ribbon slips right through the candle ring.
This last look is only jute string tied around the pillow about 5 or 6 times.
All you need for these super easy projects is a pillow, string, ribbon, or fabric and a candle ring. That’s it! Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Or should I say easy peasy pumpkin squeezy?!
Seriously, each of these looks took less than 10 minutes!
Your friends will love seeing all the slightly fall but magnificently creative decor around your home when they visit. So go impress your friends instead of buying new pillows and save your money for that corn maze or a pumpkin spice latte! 🙂
I think this is very clever and easy, I got rid of my two big storage containers of Autumn last year and i don’t want a million pillows. I already have some paint cloth pillow covers and so i am half way there, this will be fun, thanks for the ideas. Have a nice weekend.

Anything that makes storage a little easier is always nice in my book. Thank you and hope you have fun making over a pillow or 2.
So clever!!! Now I’m gonna have to go through my fall and see what I can dig up – or I see a trip to the store in my future!! So cute….

LOL. I bet you have plenty to work with. Enjoy!
Great idea !
Great idea. My recent fave has been making small oblong pillows out of holiday placemats. Picked up 2 Halloween ones @ ACMoore this week for $1. Will make them for my H mad daughter as pillow covers so she can switch them out; she is a minimalist to combat my cluttering! I had to smile when I saw the candle ring. I am old enough to remember the story about sleeping on a button sewed to your pillowcase to give yourself a dimple! Wonder what I’d look like after a nap on the candle ring!!!

LOL! That would hurt sleeping on those! I’ve not done the placement pillows yet but it’s in my list! Don’t think I can find any for a dollar though. Happy Fall!
REALLY cute idea! Great inspiration to add other items to pillows, too! Pinning!

Cindy, I love how your pillows turned out! Would you believe I just completed a project using candle rings, too? Completely different, but we seem to be on the same page 😉 Have a wonderful week! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
