Thanksgiving is a month away and now is the time I start thinking about how I’d like ours to look.  More importantly, I want to use what I already have but I’d like to try and change it up a bit.  How about you?  Do you do the same thing each year or mix it up?  So today I’m sharing Thanksgiving tablescape ideas to warm the heart to help you get started.  Some are from me and a few more from my friends that I think are beautiful.

Thanksgiving Tablescape Ideas To Warm The Heart

Around here we keep things casual so if someone spills cranberry sauce on the tablecloth, no one gasps and the culprit doesn’t feel grievous about it (although, sometimes it can’t be helped).  So informal is ideal and for me, heart-warming can be sentimental and sometimes sharing a little giggle or two.

This particular year I chose the cutest candlesticks that were a gift from my mom.  Aren’t they darling?  They were my inspiration piece.  Once you have that, I grabbed a cake plate to use as a riser, plopped a wreath on it and added a faux pumpkin for a fun centerpiece.  Add a few coordinating bottles/vases with real flowers and boom, you have an easy tablescape.

Quilts used as tablecloths is definitely cozy.

I obviously think using colored bottles are the way to go.  😉  And using them for dried stems then adding a garland is another super easy yet cozy idea for a tablescape.  Don’t forget to add ribbon.  It makes a huge difference!

That year I warmed up the table with a quilt and cedar placemats from Kirkland’s.  I can’t find the placemats anymore but they have a cedar table runner this time around.  And these placemats look almost the same on Amazon.

Pull inspiration from your plates.

Fall garland to coordinate with the salad sized plates found at Hobby Lobby a few years ago was how I started.  The garland wasn’t all that full so I added real and faux pumpkins to beef it up.  Pull out the color for cloth napkins and/or placemats and that’s it.  Easy peasy!

Y’all!  As I was looking back and found this tablescape, I literally laughed out loud.  Who has that many bottles?!  I guess I do.  😉  In my defense, they make a fantastic looking centerpiece.  Not only with flowers inside but with candles also!

Vases or bottles don’t have to hold only flowers. 

If you have Autumn or Thanksgiving plates, it’s great to use those for brainstorming.  That’s what I did with this one.  The tablecloth, plates, napkins, flowers and candles create a colorful coordinated table.

If fresh everything is up your alley (believe me, I think it’s mine as well), look at this centerpiece created by Michelle at Thistle Key Lane.  Can you imagine the aromas?  The fresh bread, the fruits, the flowers.  Wowza!

This rustic toolbox idea from Stacy at Brick-N-Blooms definitely gives me the warm-heart-feels.  And the simplicity of the place setting is beautiful but doesn’t distract you from the gorgeous centerpiece.

If you don’t have a toolbox but have a dough bowl, bread/cheese board or tray, you could do this as well.  Amber from Follow The Yellow Brick Home put this together and it turned out stunningly warm and inviting.  The rich color, candlesticks and feathers just give it that extra pizzazz and magnetism. 

This last one I’ll share is from The Garden Style.  I have been in the process of drying orange slices and wrapping them around candles would be perfect to use in a rustic yet elegant tablescape.  I love the added pinecones and leaves as well.  So pretty.
