Merry Christmas Friends!  Today is a short post with an easy DIY project if you need something quick for Christmas.  I like things to be a little different each year on the front porchette but didn’t have much time because the porchette tour was coming up fast.  So I made two of these in 15 minutes and the cost was extremely reasonable.  So let’s get started with a quick and inexpensive DIY Christmas decor project.

And this looks great inside or outdoors!

Supplies Needed:

Tomato cage

Clear tape (I used scotch tape)

Faux Christmas garland

shatter proof ornaments

Ribbon or bow

Step 2 for making your own Christmas tree with faux garland. by COuntyRoad407.com #DIYchristmasTree #ChristmasDecor #outdoorChristmasdecor

Step 1:  Tape the top 3 ends of the tomato cage to each other using clear tape.  It just needs to hold together so it’s not flopping all around while you’re trying to wrap it with the garland.

Step 2:  Wrap the faux garland around the tomato cage starting at the bottom.  Use the stems to secure it to the cage.  I wrapped the stem at the first starting point at the bottom, once in the middle and then at the end of the garland when we get to the top.  If you go in between the horizontal cage wires, you’ll see the ornaments much better.  I didn’t do that the first time and started over.

Step 3:  Decide what color ornaments you’d like to add and hang them from the middle tomato cage wires that run horizontally.  I used red at first then decided on silver.  Both ornament sets came from Dollar Tree and both looked very nice.  I honestly like the red best but that didn’t work with our front door color. Next year I’ll probably use the red I got and be super happy.

Step 4:  Add a bow to the top to cover the tape

Step 5:  Stand back and admire your quick, easy and inexpensive handy work.  You could add lights too.  I bet that would look amazing!  Or add real greenery and wowza – what a quick and inexpensive DIY Christmas decor project!  Remember, you can get the real stuff free at your local hardware store or where ever they clip off the bottoms of the real trees they sell.  If you’d like to see my fresh wreath with free greenery, click here.

You’ll be the talk of the street when you put this little cutie outside.  And I mean that in a good way.  Not like the Sanford and Son kinda way.  ๐Ÿ˜‰

Merry Christmas Friends!
