Hello Friends! Are you looking forward to a 3 day weekend? I am! Memorial Day is this coming Monday and if it snuck up on you like it did me, here are some last minute easy patriotic centerpiece ideas for Memorial Day.
Whether or not you are having a meal outside, inside or a picnic at the park to celebrate, it’s nice to have a centerpiece. They make your table or picnic a little more special. And none of these ideas gathered from Pinterest will cost a lot of money. So instead of spending a lot of time on the centerpiece, we can spend time baking or just hanging out with friends and family! ๐

Have a glass jar? Pick up a few hydrangeas at your local store and add a few flags from the dollar store. So easy and so festive! If you don’t want to use Hydrangeas, try Mums, Carnations or Baby’s Breath. They are less expensive alternatives and last longer. You can add one jar or three. Just remember to keep it simple.

Lanterns make a great and easy centerpiece. You can find red lanterns at almost any hardware store. If you have a vintage lantern, pull it out and your guests will ooh and ahh over it. If you have a lantern that isn’t quite the color you want, spray paint it. Just cover the glass with damp newspaper before painting.

Many of us country and farmhouse admirers have white pitchers or vases on hand. Why not use them for those dollar store flags again? They would look great on a blue or red checked table cloth or with a white or red table runner too. Or how about placing them on red and blue bandanas?!

I love how easy and colorful this one is. Purchase a couple of potted plants with red flowers from your local nursery and set them down in a basket and add the flags. You can use any basket but if you don’t have one, try a brown paper grocery bag. You’ll get the same coloring as a basket and you just have to fold down the sides of the bag. If you don’t want to go buy a plant, any pot with greenery and flags would also be stunning. The flowers above are Geraniums but Gerbera Daisies or roses would work too.
Idea #5 by Home Is Where The Boat Is
Do you have a tiered tray? All we need for this is a few fire crackers and a couple of mason jars. You can add flowers, flags, sparklers or any patriotic decor. If you don’t have a tiered tray, use a cake plate or stack two cake plates on each other for a similar look.

Okay, that was more than a few but you can see how easy it would be to add a last minute patriotic centerpiece to your Memorial Day fun.
Last year I did a patriotic snack cart. If you’d like to see that, click here. It has the vintage birdcage food tent on it! ๐
Now let’s get to honoring the men and women who’ve died in the military!
I love all of these ideas! Now if it would only stop raining so I could finish my project and snap some photos.

Thank you Cindy. That sounds a bit frustrating. Hope it gets finished just in time for a party!
Thank you for taking the time to collect all these great ideas! I have more patriotic decor outside than in. My new fave is a bottomless milk glass hen on a nest paired with a cobalt blue bottom that just fit. Two different places, 2 different times! I added a cotton bow of cream and maroon gingham! I love my milk glass and cobalt paired together! She is sitting on my crowded coffee table!
