Hello my wonderful Pinterest Challenge loving friends! I’m excited to share this month’s mission with you because I thoroughly enjoyed putting it together. Plus, my friends below did an amazing interpretation as well! I adore all things fall so it’s not hard to smile at all the things. There’s a lot to see so let’s get to it. Here’s how to create a warm autumn vignette people will find interesting.
How to Create a Warm Autumn Vignette People Will Find Interesting
If you’ve hopped over from Cottage In The Mitten, thank you for visiting! And if this is your first time to see a Pinterest Challenge, welcome! Each month my friends and I use the same photo found on Pinterest then we blend it to create something all our own. It’s seriously so fun!
This month our inspiration photo comes from The Cottage Journal. It highlighted designer, Gloria Parkers 1830’s cottage home. As soon as I saw this vignette I was crazy about it. I found it more interesting than a typical vignette I would put together. I think it’s captivating.
What I notice about the photo are the gold colors with a touch of green, the stacked books, the open book, the pot with stems, pumpkins, the antique serving bowl, the old photos, and single leaves.
Fall vignette using books, pumpkins, stems and berries.
Another delightful part about the pinterest challenge is that I try not to purchase anything but use what I already have stashed around the house. That being said, I don’t have small photos or frames or an antique bowl. What I do have are plenty of books, pumpkins and stems around here.
I found the inspo photo to be interesting because of the books. Especially the open book. Why have I never thought of that before? When I opened this one it had the perfect picture! Honestly, I’ve never opened it so it was pure luck. Choose a book you find intriguing. Maybe a highlighted Bible verse or an autumn gardening book or a book on gourds. Or what about a fun children’s book?
Stretch out the accessories for slender tables
If you have a slender table, stretch out your pieces. Remember, the inspiration photo is just a starting point. If you duplicate it exactly, then it’s really not your own.
Besides the open book, add something else you find interesting. For me, it’s this darling squirrel candle holder found at The Painted Tree.
Instead of using a large pot with berry stems, I have a brown jar with the fall stems. The gold pot in the inspo photo was traded out for a small vintage crock in a beautiful buttery color. Adding a candle inside the crock and using a berry candle ring that I unraveled is working perfectly with my style.
Keep your colors similar so everything is cohesive and visitors will notice the special things about the vignette. And don’t forget the little pumpkins and single leaves.
I hope you’ll find a photo on Pinterest and challenge yourself to design something similar. Did you see how to create a warm autumn vignette people will find interesting today? Thank you Ms. Marty. I don’t know what to call the piece hanging under the lamp. Maybe pods? Glad you found something you liked. Happy Fall!
These pops of orange and yellow are so bright and cherry, Cindy! I love your squirrel and how you shared to stretch out the accessories if you have a narrow table. That is such a genius idea! Big hugs and thanks so much for putting this all together. You guys are all so creative and I love to see how each person interprets the challenge image. It’s so much fun, CoCo

Beautiful Cindy, that squirrel candleholder is adorable with that orange candle and of course that amber glass bottle with naturals is perfect. Happy week!

Thanks so much Debra. Sometimes I pass up things that are super seasonal like the squirrel but this time I had to bring him home.
I love the contrast between light and dark accents in your vignette. The dark framed mirror, books and the large bottle really stand out. So pretty with the berry vine, pumpkins and of course the cute squirrel candle holder. Perfection Cindy!!

Thanks bunches Tammy!
I always find the Pinterest challenge so interesting and love the differences in everyone. Love what you did, such pretty colors.
Author
Thanks Marlene. I’m using a lot of color this year and really like it. Do you have cooler weather yet? Happy fall!
Cindy, I love how you’ve arranged your table! The little squirrel candleholder is especially sweet next to the books. We have a resident squirrel who knows how to open our metal can full of birdseed (Amy was up recently and she called him a “mini bear.” ) I had totally forgotten that squirrels are pretty crafty and open many things. Anyway, I enjoy our real guys plus a little faux squirrel who will make an appearance soon as we get more into fall. I forget about laying books open, too. Why is that? Weird, huh? ๐
Thank you for hosting,
Hugs,

We have so many squirrels around here and I love it. The Mister, not so much. We had a family in the attic we had to get rid of but I don’t think deterred them from taking up residence in the tree. I know you loved having Amy for a visit. The visits are never long enough. Hoping we don’t go from summer straight into fall. Stay frosty my friend and thank you.
Cindy, your vignette is picture perfect. I too love your open book. As you said, it had the perfect picture.
And your adorable squirrel adds so much charm. I love that you worked with what you had at home, I did the same thing.

Isn’t it a bit more satisfying when you don’t spend money and the challenge comes out great?! I love that! Thanks so much Wendy. ๐
So many pretty ideas, Cindy! I love the amber bottle and how you have your side buffet styled. Perfect for fall!
Author
Thank you. The Pinterest Challenges are so much fun!
Love that cozy crock with the candle inside; so farmhouse. And love how you scattered the leaves here and there; it looks so natural. It was such an inspiring photo!
Author
I liked the little leaves but they kept blowing off as people walked by so they are now gone. Oh well! Thank you Lora. ๐
So, so cute, Cindy! I love the squirrel candle holder! I found a little white ceramic squirrel recently at a flea market. He holds a try with acorn salt and pepper shakers. He would look so cute next to your squirrel! ๐
