Farmhouse Friday Link Party!

Hello my sweet friends!  Are you decorating for Christmas?  I’m still in sloth mode and have decided that since we will not be here in this house for Christmas, I am stopping all decorating.  Yep, Christmas has come to a halt here at home.  We are leaving for the farmhouse on Saturday but because of my present mood, I’m not sure how much will get done down there either.  Confession time over, on to good vibes now.  It’s Farmhouse Friday Link Party #183 y’all!

Farmhouse Friday Link Party #183

I’m going to get right to the features this week.  It’s a How To/DIY feature week.  There were so many wonderful links that it was hard to choose.  Especially since we choose only 4 features a week.

3 mason jars with rosemary and cranberries and floating candlesCalypso in the Country showed us how to easily make these and other ideas from left over cranberries.  I think I pinned each photo since they were so clever.

kale in ironstoneThe Crowned Goat shared how to plant kale in ironstone.  This is so pretty and I’d much rather plant kale in ironstone than eat it.  Just sayin’.  😉

christmas tree with white ballsRestyle Relove totally faked me out with her faux box tree collar!  If you’d like to save money, make sure and check it out.  I saved it for next year!

christmas trees in corner in front of windowThe Ponds Farmhouse shared how to Age New Christmas Ornaments!  This is a must see for all farmhouse/vintage lovers.  Seems so easy!

Thank you everyone for linking up each week!  You are greatly appreciated, so talented and creative!

LINK PARTY RULES:

  • Since the party is called Farmhouse Friday, we’d like to keep the party farmhouse themed. You don’t have to live in a farmhouse or have farmhouse as your main decor theme in order to share.  We love seeing farmhouse mixed in with other styles and it can be a DIY, decor inspiration or craft.
  • No food or recipe posts please.
  • We are flexible when it comes to defining “farmhouse” so if you are unsure of whether or not your post will fit in the party theme, go ahead and post it and if we feel it doesn’t fit, we’ll delete it – no hard feelings. 🙂
  • It doesn’t matter how old your post is but please link your posts only once.
  • The party runs from 6 AM, PST/8 AM, CST on Friday and ends at noon, PST/2 PM, CST on Monday.
  • You aren’t required to link back to this party, but if you do, we greatly appreciate it!
  • A Link Party is a great way to grow your blog and be inspired.  Please don’t post and run.  Show some love by visiting and pinning (from the original post) what you find interesting.
  • By linking up to this party, you permit us to share your posts and pictures via social media and as features or roundups.  We’ll make sure to link back to your post and/or this party on the week it was featured.

Bloggers post throughout the day so come back later this weekend to see more farmhouse style inspiration.  And don’t forget to PIN it!

I can totally relate. I’m finding it very difficult to find motivation to decorate for Christmas this year too. It will be minimal, and that is okay. Hope you are able to perk up soon.

I cleaned up the foyer and dining room last night and that makes me happy so today I’m definitely more perky. And I totally agree with you Miche, minimal decor is okay. Especially this year. Hope you have a great weekend.

Thank you so much for featuring my kale planter, Cindy, I really appreciate it. I can totally relate to the sloth-like decorating. This is the latest I’ve ever decorated and I’m struggling to find a way for it to feel festive “enough.” I’m so proud of you for letting it go at your current house for creating a more relaxed and chill holiday season at the farmhouse. Some of my favorite memories at Christmas have had no pomp or circumstance but small reminders of His love throughout the season when I needed it most. Sending you hugs and thank yous, CoCo

My pleasure CoCo for the feature! As for the rest, I can’t say “go back” to the good ol’ days when I don’t remember ever creating a relaxed holiday season but I am sticking to that for my new-life-every-season-decorating plan. I see photos of these homes where there’s hardly anything in the photo and I want to live there but when I take photos of my own, I think goodness, that looks bare and not “enough” like you said. Must take some getting used too? We’ll get there one day. Big hugs to you as well! Have a great weekend.

This is not a normal year, and we’re entitled to go with our gut feelings. I agree about the pressure of past Christmases. You’re smart to know when to take it easy. I know you’ll still have a wonderful blessed Christmas season. Thanks for hosting, Cindy. take care of yourself and family!
