Spread the love

Hello again and welcome to Farmhouse Friday 356.  I saw something the other day that reminded me to be grateful.  She said an easy way to begin the process and change your attitude was to say I get to do something instead of saying I have to do something.  That automatically changed my outlook.  I get to order groceries.  I get to unload the dishwasher.  I get to stop and put gas in the car.  Usually, I’m described as a positive person but this week it started with a poor attitude but that one little word changed me.  It’s been remarkable!

How about you?  Need an attitude booster or have a prayer request?  I’m all about praying and encouraging one another.

24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.  Hebrews 10:24-25.

FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 356!

This week’s theme from entries on Farmhouse Friday 355 is a mixed bag of bright and happy color so each feature has that in common. πŸ˜‰  Let’s check them out!

Thank you–and I ‘get’ to tell you that I needed something new to keep me going–my motto has always been “just do it” from when I used to be Mary Kay sales lady–we heard that at every meeting–and that motto got me though some tough times in the 30 years since–but it was getting worn out–Right now I am doing a through ‘clean out’ every pattern, piece of paper, fabric closet, craft closet–is getting a complete sort out and let’s get rid of–and today I get to say–I ‘get’ to do this–not someone else–I ‘get’ to do it and re-organized it all –so again thanks!!!
    hugs and blessings to you-diane

I’m so glad it helped and it makes my week hearing that. I need to take my own advice today as well. Thank you for commenting! Have a wonderful weekend.

I love the perspective of “I get to…” – such an important mindset for us all! It also reminds me of the “Power of Yet”. We may not have achieved or experienced something… yet! I always found this to be a great lesson for my kindergarten students! Thanks for reminding me of that, Cindy, and for reminding me of the gift found in the words “I get to”! Thanks also for hosting us all each week! Have a great weekend!

    • July 13, 2024 / 11:24 am

I’m glad I was able to encourage someone and I love the “power of yet”! I’ll remember that too. Thanks so much for sharing it!

Finally got power at the farmhouse a day or so ago. The mister will go down tomorrow and check for damage etc. Hopefully, nothing a little sweat and a tractor can’t fix. πŸ˜‰ Thanks Lora for linking up!

Thanks for the party. I started a new eating lifestyle program this week. You can be praying that I would focus on the Lord, that HE would be my strength and ability, and that HE would change my mind and heart through this tool of grace He has brought me to. πŸ™‚ So far, it’s great, and I’m really enjoying it. Seeing victories through Jesus.

    • July 13, 2024 / 11:33 am

Yay, a prayer request! I am trying to eat healthier (less carbs and sugar). And especially the late-night snacking. I’ll be praying for you! You can always pray the same for me too. Love you Julie. Keep me posted and hooray for victories! Reminds of the old hymn, Victory In Jesus. Love that song. During the chorus our pastor sang up on his tippy toes. Good times. πŸ˜‰
