Spread the love

Hello and welcome to Farmhouse Friday 355.  Was your July 4th holiday awesome and did you party like it was 1776?  lol.  Here in Texas, it was too hot (100+ degrees) to do much but we mustered up some energy to walk the historical downtown square of Granbury, TX.  To cool off, we popped into stores we usually wouldn’t enter and I found a treasure or two.  We also stopped at a German restaurant for a snack and a little rest.  I don’t know what happened but I woke up with a hitch in my gitalong.  I hope it doesn’t take long to heal (insert rolling eyes).

If you want a unique upcycled can idea, check out a past Pinterest Challenge.  It’s been 4 years and I still enjoy the lemony container.

FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 355!

We were supposed to host a 4th of July cookout but on Tuesday we checked the forecast again and it looked like the thunderstorms we feared would not improve, so we made the call to cancel it, and have a summer celebration later. And so glad we did because like clockwork, a shelf cloud came in followed by a monsoon of water— at the exact time our outdoor gathering was scheduled. So we just gathered at home and watched A Capitol Fourth. But it sounds like with your heat, you adjusted the plan for some fun. 🙂

I remember having weird weather in years past and that we talked about it the entire year but I don’t remember it ever being over 100 degrees in June. I was really hoping the predictions of a mild summer were correct. :/ Stay cool Shelley!

Happy 4th, Cindy! It sounds like you had a great day celebrating. We are visiting family right now. Thankfully it wasn’t crazy hot here so we enjoyed the parade yesterday afternoon and fireworks last night. Tonight we are going to a drive-in movie!

Thanks so much for sharing my DIY citronella torches. I appreciate it.

Hope you stay cool and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

We had a big get together at Nika’s yesterday. Jared’s car broke down on the way here, so we are all working on getting stuff fixed today! I have the two older kids while they figure things out. Thanks for hosting! Glad you had fun yesterday!

    • July 5, 2024 / 1:09 pm

Sounds like fun. We have such a small family, I’m not sure any of our get togethers will be big. 😉 Glad you had a good time and I know they love you being able to pitch in and keep the kids. Thanks Julie
