Welcome to the weekend friends and I’m glad you’re here for Farmhouse Friday 311. Are you having a great week? Y’all know I’m kinda obsessed with the weather so I watched a video that mentioned that the Atlantic Ocean has never been this hot before which will cause a crazy winter for the US. I would imagine for others too really. Hurricanes, extra rain in places, blizzards, etc. I’m hoping for blizzards in Texas but I’m not crossing my fingers.
I do remember though in 1980 having so much fun in the 3 feet of snow we got. No school, tubing down the hills at the high school and having grilled cheese sandwiches every day! lol. I loved it. This was long before they made shoes for dogs so we even tied baggies on our dogs paws to keep the snow from collecting. Seriously, so fun. 43 years later and I’m still up for doing the same things! Except now, the dog has shoes and I have a panini maker so the sammies will be a smidge fancier. 😉
FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 311
After seeing that weather video, I was all excited for fall. Just in my mind. Not physically changing out my decor just yet. However, I got to thinking about late summer decor. So if that interests you too, check out that post here.
Love these ideas for late summer decor changes
Thank you everyone who links up at the party. Y’all make it so hard to choose just 4 features because y’all are so stinkin’ creative. This week it’s all about the DIY’s. Check them out.
Features from Farmhouse Friday 310
Most of us have a lamp that’s seen better days or decades! We need to stop spending money on new lamps (new to us/thrifted lamps are always good) and DIY old ones like Julie from My Wee Abode. Look how pretty this turned out. Pin it now for later!
Penny from Penny’s Treasures shows how she made this picnic themed pocket tobacco basket for her door. I love that she even used the real stuff! Check it out. So cute for summer.
Yep, when it comes to a bowl, even a recipe is a do it yourself project. Doesn’t this totally look professional and scrumptious? Kandice at Garden Grown Recipes shows us exactly how we can look professional too. I can hardly wait to impress my family with this!
It’s not too late to make a burlap fabric coaster for summer! Rachel from The Ponds Farmhouse makes it look easy and the colors on this peach coaster are magnificent! What a happy statement these would make your table. She has other designs too. Pop over and see them all!

Everyone thinks I’m crazy too. Especially because I live in TX. I guess we always want what we don’t have, right? One of these days I’m going to get up to PA and visit! Thanks so much. Have a great weekend.
I’m just ready for some days in the 70’s. We lived in San Antonio years ago and I was a lot younger then. Now the heat just effects me so badly. I’m concerned about the upcoming hurricane season with these super hot water temps. I say this every year, but thinking about fall is literally a breath of fresh air. Have a fun weekend, Cindy. Thanks so much for having us over.

I am so with you. The hurricanes are concerning. As much as I wish for lots of snow here, I know that won’t be good for many others. So glad you stopped by and always link up. Love all of your posts.
Thanks so much for the feature, Cindy! The DIY lampshade went live today! I’ll be linking that next week! Hope you see cooler temps soon… I would LOVE a cold winter! this tropical weather in So Cal is just strange!
