Hey y’all, it’s fall! Well not really, that’s actually Sept. 22 but it is the start of my birthday month which is the next best thing! September is my favorite month. This week the hubs and I will celebrate 30 years of marriage. And as most of you know, we are in the middle of planning a wedding for our youngest which brings me to my question. What would y’all do if you had a big anniversary coming up and you didn’t have much money because you spend it all on your kids? I don’t even know what to get the mister for a gift (he’d like a recliner but that’s never happening) and neither of us can think of something to do that we don’t already do. Help! Any ideas for gifts or cheap spur-of-the-moment celebration activities would be much appreciated. Please and thank you! π
Before we get to the features I was trying to remember what I’d done to the porch last year so I searched “fall” on my website and this is what popped up. 2 Ways to Use Fall Stems to Create Coziness in Fall Decor. As soon as I saw the first photo I remembered how much I enjoyed sitting there spying on my neighbors. Click here if you want to see it.

Now it’s time for Farmhouse Friday 269! This week there were so many fall inspiration ideas making it super hard to choose features. Although, you guys make it hard every week with your amazing creativity.
FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 269!
Jennifer from Midwest Life and Style creates the most beautiful tables for 2. This one makes me look forward to dining al-fresco soon! Just love all the beautiful colors and surroundings. Check it out!
Rachel from The Ponds Farmhouse out did it for me with all of this pink! You’ll definitely want to hop over and see the surroundings to her gorgeous garden party. I might have said holy guacamole several times.
Shelley from Calypso in the Country shares not 1, not 3, but 7 ideas for using sunflowers for fall decorating. Wouldn’t you love being at the sink if you saw this each day? Heck yeah! I need to revamp mine too!
Heidi from Eleanor Rose Home knows how to decorate for fall y’all! Another must see for autumn inspo for sure! I pinned so many photos and started unpacking my bins! Love this.

Happy Friday, Cindy! Thank you for hosting! I love the features today. I cannot believe we are already in September– wasn’t New Year’s the other day? π I love fall but I am stubbornly holding on to summer for a few more weeks before I starting thinking about fall. Have a wonderful weekend!

That’s funny Angie. I’m thinking and planning for fall the minute we start getting hot here. That’s about the June. LOL!
For our 30th, we went to wine country in the Finger Lakes of NY – tasted wine and went out to dinner. One night in a hotel overlooking the lake. Happy Anniversary!
Author
The Mister loves wine! I bet he’d like that. Thanks for the great idea Ann. Enjoy your weekend. π
Happy Friday. of a LONG weekend! Thanks for the party. π

I can tell! My goodness, it looked amazing!
Love the start of fall inspiration, Cindy.
You have a big month coming up. Why don’t you go through old anniversary cards (if you save them) from each other, or pick up your wedding album amd go through it, trying to remember what each of you were thinking in each one. Have a drink, toast the years, amd maybe she’d a few tears with the smiles. The gift of time together beats any material possession at this point in life.
Author
I love that idea Rita. We’ll go through the wedding album since we don’t do cards. Think of us on the 5th when I pull it out. We’ll be laughing about it instead of shedding tears. He still teases me about the first thing I said when I walked down the aisle – Do I look like the Statue of Liberty?! It was the headband and tulle! LOL. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing Cindy! I can’t wait to see your home styled for fall. Happy September!!!

Congrats on the upcoming anniversary. Our 25th is the end of October. Since we took our big trip with all the family to Alaska in May, we’re going to take a short trip to Santa Fe to celebrate. Haven’t been in over 15 years.

That sounds fun Carol. We may get out of town for the weekend. Thanks so much. And it sounds like your anniversary will be amazing. Enjoy!
September is my favorite month as well. September babies are the best. Mi e is on the 23rd. Our family has about 10 birthdays in September. Hugs and blessings to you. And happy anniversary!

Hi Cindy,
Why not re-do your first date for your anniversary?
Did you go out for dinner? See a movie?
Congrats!
Author
Oh my goodness, that sounds so fun! If I ask the mister what that was, he’d never remember. But I do! We went to a play at the local junior college. I feel a quiz coming on. LOL! Thank you Laura!
Love seeing so many of my favorite creative ladies being featured, Cindy! I’m definitely ready for fall. As far as your anniversary goes the year COVID hit my parents were set to go to Europe for their 50th wedding anniversary. They were totally bummed when their trip got canceled so we surprised them with a scavenger hunt that took them around town to all their favorite places and they loved it. We also left a big box of presents for them so they could have one present to open each day in the weeks leading up to their anniversary. While they had to reschedule their big trip, it actually wound up to be a double blessing because they were able to celebrate their anniversary and still had their trip to look forward to. Little things add up so don’t discount them – 30 years is a long time and it definitely deserves to be celebrated! Big hugs, CoCo

Aww, y’all are the best kids and I know they enjoyed every single minute and felt so special. We definitely need to celebrate. Just have to figure out how. Thank you CoCo!
Spying on your neighbors..bwahahaha!! You crack me up! Thanks for hosting the fun party!! Have a great first week of our favorite month!
Author
Thank you Julie. I’ll be celebrating all month! Hope you have an excellent weekend.
Thanks for letting me know about your weekly party here Cindy! I’ve linked up my Pear Tablescape. So many happenings for you in Sept! We are in the same boat of trying to think of what to do for our 40th wedding anniversary in Oct! Love your beautiful fall porch from last year! Have a wonderful weekend! ~ Lori
Author
Yay Lori! So glad you linked up and thank you. Hope you get to do something amazing for your anniversary. 40 yrs. is a big deal!
Thanks for the party Cindy. If you want to stay home how about a Pic Nic with some of the foods & drinks you enjoyed together as a young couple? If it’s too hot outside, create the Pic Nic in the middle of your living room? Maybe then watch a classic movie you both love? I don’t know, just a thought. We get in ruts too but happy anniversary and happy birthday π€©π«! Hope you have a wonderful Labor Day. XO- MaryJo
Author
That idea sounds so nice MaryJo, thank you. We just might do that. Enjoy your weekend as well!
Buy your husband a recliner. I’ve been married 39 years. We’ve had one(but replaced several times) recliner since our son was a baby. He’s 33 now. So much easier to rock a baby. They aren’t the ugly chairs they used to be. I’m sure he would love it. π
Author
Oh gosh, I don’t know Ann. It has been on my mind. Maybe if I can find one that isn’t outrageous, doesn’t look like a recliner and comes in a nice leather, I’ll surprise him. He’d owe me for the rest of his days because that is one humongous sacrifice. π And oh the teasing I would get. Thanks for the suggestion.
Fun party today, Cindy!! You picked great features this week!! Thanks again for hosting and have a lovely weekend!
Thanks again for hosting this charming party every week! I know how much time goes into doing so and I want you to know that it I truly appreciate it!! Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
Hugs,
Debbie
Wow a big month for celebrating! Happy anniversary, happy birthday and happy fall Cindy! Cheers my friend!
Author
Thanks bunches Michelle. I really appreciate it.
Thanks for hosting Cindy! I want to wish you a Happy Anniversary. 30 years that is amazing.
Author
Aww, thank you Meagan. It seems like 3 years (most days). π
I love those brown bottles! Thanks for the party. We are celebrating our 35th this weekend. We’re just doing a little three day getaway that involves a boat ride. It’s hard coming up with ideas of things to do and gifts to buy when you get older, cause you usually have everything already, and what you don’t have you either don’t want or can’t afford. Oh, and buy the guy a recliner, you may find you will enjoy it more than he does. I was always the type that never wanted a recliner in my house, and I finally got one. It was the best decision of my life. Those chairs are so comfy and it ended up being the most popular chair in the house. Everyone, including the grandkids, want to sit in the recliner. Comfort should be top priority in home furnishing, not looks. I’m sure you can find one you like that would match your home’s decor.
Author
Happy Anniversary to you as well Amy! Our weekend was so nice. He took off Friday thru Tuesday (today) so it was full of laughter and fun activities everyday! No recliner yet. I’d never sit in it. I’m much shorter than he is but maybe one day I’ll surprise him – maybe. Hope your boat ride was fun. That sounds like a lot of fun actually. We used to ski and ride around in the boat when we were younger. The evenings were my fave. Just floating in the middle of the lake watching the sun go down. Dang it! Makes me want to get another boat. Hmmm.
Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary I hope you celebrate all month long! Have a great Labor Day weekend!
Author
Heck yeah! It will definitely be all month long and thanks so much! π
Aww, Cyn your porch looks great! I wish I could think of a gift idea for you. Iβve already given James the greatest gift I could give him. Yβall just continue walking with the Lord by your side. Another 30 years will flyby before you know it!
Author
Thanks mom. I’ll ask him if he agrees with you on the greatest gift. LOL! We had a fantastic weekend and I know the rest of the month and next 30 years (Lord willing) will be just as wonderful.
