Hey friends! Welcome to Farmhouse Friday 262. Tell me, if you live in the U.S., are you melting? Our electric company is “asking” us to reduce our usage during the peak ours. Umm, that’s during the heat of the day when it’s 110 degrees outside. The mister said – Cindy, we need to do our part so I’m turning the air up a click. Whaaat?! A click means to 79 here. I know neighbors that keep their air on 72 and don’t comply. Yep, that’s a bit of a tattle. Well, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do so I now walk around with a cold wet washcloth on my head. Unfortunately, that’s my new look.
If you missed my steal of the century yesterday, you need to see it and let me know what you think!
You may scratch your head and think it’s weird but I love it!
I still can’t believe it. It makes me excited about Christmas! Not that thinking about winter cools me down at all. :/ Yeah, I know, now I’m really griping. I can’t help it, I’m hot, and not in a sexy way.
Let’s get to the fun features from Farmhouse Friday 261.
Have y’all ever thought of Summer Stovetop Potpourri?! I have not but need to try this – today! Heidi from Eleanor Rose Home shares her recipe and it sounds aaaahhhmazing!
Need more sweet summer decorating ideas? Then you’ll want to see CoCo’s ideas from The Crowned Goat. Her Cottage Inspired Summer Entry and Dining Room are so beautiful!
Raise your hand if you like an easy dip! With bacon! And cheese! If you’re raising both hands then check out this recipe from Stephanie at Spaceships and Laser Beams. We’re having a party soon and this is on the list!
Peaches are one of those summer fruits that you just can’t eat enough of. And Shay from What the Fork shares the recipe for her Gluten Free Peach Shortcake. Y’all, just look at this! Soooo delicious!

My pleasure Heidi. Thank YOU for linking up and giving us all a wonderful idea. I know my stinky house could use it.

So far so good Debbie. Thanks for always linking up and supporting the party. Happy summer!
Another Friday, another great party Cindy! Super amazing features this week. Hope you and your cold washcloth have a great weekend!!
Author
Well I can’t go out in public with my new hat, that’s for sure. Happy Friday Rachel.
Would you believe summer is just starting here in the Canadian prairies? We hit 30C (86F) for the first time this summer. For the most part, it’s been hovering in the low 70F range with rain. I guess that’s why I love it when the heat cranks up because it’s such a rarity. I can’t imagine an entire summer in the 80 & 90F range. Fancy up that wet washcloth and maybe you’ll start a new fashion trend!
Author
I’m no expert in fashion but I can pretty much guarantee that will not be a new trend no matter how many flowers or beads or ribbons I attach. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE our summer weather being in the 80-90F range. That would be like spring again! Thanks for linking up Marie. Enjoy the new season!
meltinnnnnng, meltinnnng, yes horribly hot and humid. I thought I’d croak when my husband upped us to 77 degrees. Maybe we should check out the frozen neck wraps that athletes use! Loved your new hutch/cabinet. so fun and garden-y! thanks for hosting and grab those ice cubes.
Author
What are these frozen neck wraps you speak of?! I’ll have to search that on Amazon. Sounds like you need a washcloth hat too. Although, I would be fine if it were only 77 in our house. You’re one lucky lady. π Stay cool Debra and thanks for joining the party.
We’re barely gonna hit 80 this weekend–then back to the 70’s next week–here in So Cal! It’s nice…but scary…because it usually means an Indian summer. Yuck! I do not enjoy summer in the fall.
Thanks for hosting and sharing all the great inspiration, Cindy!

I should come visit you Julie but with my luck, I’d bring the triple digit degrees with me and y’all would boot me out on to the streets. :0
Thank you so much for hosting! It’s been years since I joined a link party, I forgot how much fun they were π
Author
Oh my golly Michelle, I’m so glad you found us and joined in! Happy Friday!
Thanks for hosting a great start to the weekend!
Once again, your Friday party brings me joy. I chuckle at the names of some of the blog sites, and love the content! Iβm looking forward to trying that bacon and cheese dip. See yβall then.
Author
Oh my golly, I know! It looks so yummy!
We are doing our part to conserve too. I don’t want any rolling brown outs this summer. Good luck finding ways to say cool my friend!
Author
Crossing my fingers more people conserve! No rolling brown outs! When we had them this winter, I was totally fine with that!
Thanks for the party Cindy. You make me laugh and provide some great visuals. But seriously stay cool. Our weather has been up & down, up & down. Very weird. Some say it’s earthquake weather. Yikes! I rather just plain heat. Anyway, love the new hutch! TGIF! XO- MaryJo

Glad I can be of service MaryJo. LOL! I am quite the looker around here.
So sweet of you to feature my summer entry and dining room space, Cindy, I really appreciate it. We’re also trying to conserve energy as our a/c unit sounds like it’s crying π I literally just got colling sheets, a pillow, and a cooling mattress topper during prime days to help so I will keep you posted. Until then, you might want to try a portable fan that chills/mists, and you can wear it around your neck π Hang in there, it will be October soon! Big hugs and thank yous, CoCo
Author
I never thought about a portable neck cooling fan. That would definitely go with my washcloth ensemble! And please keep me posted about the cooling sheets etc. I’ve always wondered about those!
Thank you so much for hosting!! π
Thanks for hosting, it’s my first time here! Great party! Lots of great places to visit.

Yay Tanya, so glad you found us!
Wow that’s hot. No, I’m not melting, but it’s humid here in Wisconsin. We don’t have central air, and I’ve actually lived without air conditioning for most of my life, but now I have two window air conditioners. I think the way our country is going, all Americans will have to get use to living without air conditioning again. Thanks for the party.
Author
Oh heavens, no! If we have to learn to live without a/c, I’m moving to Alaska. Thank you for joining us!
Cindi,
Another great week.
Thanks for the party, Cindy! That is a great find from last week!
My son is in dallas and he said he has never sweated so much in his life! ha!
Author
Me either and I am quite a bit older than he is! LOL.
