Hello my beautiful friends! Yep, it’s Fri-hi-hi-day and time for Farmhouse Friday 254! Today I’m highlighting recipes. I’ve never done that before. Mostly because I don’t care for cooking. When the kids were little all they ate were chicken nuggets or Cheetos except for the few months when the middle child ate only carrots and got mad when we didn’t allow it anymore. She looked like an Oompa Loompa. I’m talking skin color and not for the overalls or green hair.
When they grew into their taste buds we ate the same 5 things. The only 5 things I could cook. Now that they are adulting they eat out with friends or walk in the door with a pizza. Well, I’ve grown into my taste buds and finally want to try new things. These recipes looked doable, yummy and featuring them seemed appropriate for the upcoming summer holidays. So red, white and blue recipes it is!
FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 254!
If you missed my post yesterday, check it out. I joined a few of my vintage loving friends in a monthly post called Thrifting with the Gals. I loved seeing where they shop, what they found and how they decorate with their treasures.
Want a few fun ideas for summer season decor using vintage finds? Oh yay!
Now let’s get to these fabulous patriotic recipe features from Farmhouse Friday 253!
Emily at Hunny I’m Home shares a gluten free dump cake with an extra special ingredient! Click over to see what it is and I bet you’ll hit that Pinterest button for a quick save. So scrumptious!
I’ve never heard of a Custard Cake so when Lenny at Fat Dad Foodie posted this I was all-in. Can a cake look refreshing? I say absolutely!
Lois at Walking on Sunshine had me at No-Bake with her Cheesecake Pudding Parfaits! I’ll be the favorite neighbor serving these yummies. Heck, they’ll even match my outfit. ๐
I can’t even with this Summer Berry Spinach Salad from Jen at Midwest Life and Style. I think she should have named this Summer Berry Mouth Watering Salad. I mean, just look at those fresh berries!
As always, thank you for visiting and linking up!

Happy Friday, Cindy. Thanks for hosting!
I haven’t eaten yet so now I’m really hungry after seeing those features and my coffee and I would like a slice of that dump cake. I happily retired my kitchen apron as soon as the last child left the nest. Have a good weekend, Cindy! It’s a long weekend here in Canada so we’re getting out of dodge for the first time since the pandemic and heading to the mountains.

Ohmygosh… kids. just carrots! The gluten free dump cake looks yummy. I’m heading that direction. I have to eat GF, so my food life is limited. Thanks for having us over. Have a great weekend, Cindy!

Yep, just carrots. Our middle child has continued to be the adventurous one with food. She’ll try anything. Now that she’s in her 20’s, she’s finally thriving on mac and cheese and potato’s. LOL! You’ll love Fat Daddy’s recipes. Tons are gluten free! Enjoy.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who had to deal with picky eaters! I was forever, ‘hiding’ fruit and veg in my kid’s meals when they were little haha! Even now they still remember ‘Hedgehog mash’ and animal face rice cakes made with fruits and veg! Now they are older they both love to cook from scratch so something must have stuck! Thanks for hosting, Cindy, have a fabulous weekend!

When our youngest was a toddler, she hated cheese. CHEESE! We kept saying she couldn’t be our child. We’re total cheeseheads around here. We could give her a bite of something with cheese on it and she’d work it around with her tongue until she spit out the cheese. We thought it was funny so continued to give it to her just for the laughs. LOL, great parenting.
You crack me up, Cindy!! Thanks for the great recipes!! Have a great day, friend!!
