Howdy Friends! It’s time for Farmhouse Friday #239. I’m giggling a bit as I type out – 239. When my dad was alive, he had a joke for everything. He thought he was hilarious. That may be where I get it. ๐ Anyway, the man loved pinto beans. Mom would put a pot of beans on the stove and let them simmer all day just for him. So I would sing – Beans beans the musical fruit, the more you eat the more you toot. The more you toot the better you feel, so let’s have beans at every meal. Dad would say “Nope, if we eat only 239 beans, we’ll be fine. Just don’t eat 240”. He’d pronounce it toofarty. LOL. Yep, that’s my family.
Good times, good times. Y’all I’m still laughing. Yes, I’ve turned into a 5th grade boy. Okay, let me get back to adulthood and on to this weeks wonderful features. There were so many and it was extremely hard to choose so instead of just four features this week, I have five.
Lynne at Thrifting Wonderland shares her Valentine’s Day Tea. I so want to be invited to join her. Click over to see the details. You’ll want to join in too. Just so pretty!
Elizabeth from Pinecones and Acorns shows us how she made Dollar Tree Valentine’s Day Candy Favors. Don’t they look amazing? How fun would it be to pass these out to the kids, grandkids, friends, myself?!
Julie from My Wee Abode has crafty hands this month. She shared how to make this ticking stripe fabric heart wreath. I am definitely making one next year! Check it out so you can pin it for later. Love it!
Y’all know I love a good charcuterie board and this one from Jennifer at Wanderlust and Wellness had me drooling! You’d be the hostess with the mostess for sure with this scrumptious beauty!
Brittany at White and Woodgrain shares how she refinished an old Secretary Desk. I am in love with this. I want to sit there and write notes to my loved ones. Heck, this might even make me want to write a sweet note to an enemy! Such a gorgeous piece. A must see!
Thank you so much for sharing your creativity with us and linking up. You always make my day. If you missed last week’s link party #238, you can click here to see it. Happy Valentine’s Day!
FARMHOUSE FRIDAY #239 PARTY GUIDELINES:
- Your style does not have to be farmhouse nor do you have to live in a farmhouse to link up. We just want to see linkups that would fit in with the farmhouse lifestyle which include:
- Home DIY and Decor
- Gardening
- Crafts
- Recipes
- Homesteading
- It doesn’t matter how old your post is but please link your posts here only once.
- The party runs from 6 AM, CST on Friday and ends at 12 PM, CST on Monday.
- You aren’t required to link back to this party, but if you do, thanks! That’s mighty nice of you.
- A Link Party is a great way to grow your blog. Please don’t post and run. Show some love by visiting and pinning (from the original post) what you find interesting.
- By linking up, you get a chance to be featured here at next week’s party and across our social media accounts which includes our Farmhouse Friday board on Pinterest!
- When you link to this party, you permit us to share your posts and pictures via social media and as features, roundups, etc. with a link back to your post or a link back to this party on the week your post was featured.
- There have been many links that do not follow the guidelines. I appreciate you wanting to join but since this is about sharing a farmhouse lifestyle, those that do not fit will be deleted. For any confusion, see bullet point number one.
Haha! I’m still laughing at that beans joke too! 240!!! Hope you have a lovely weekend, Cindy and thanks for hosting!

My pleasure Jayne. That joke is so middle school, right?! LOL Thanks for linking up!
Hi Cindy, I’ve been following your renovation with interest and enjoy seeing all the improvements you
re making in your weekend home. Thanks for hosting the link party every week. Appreciate the feature for “Valentine’s Day Tea Party”. You are welcome anytime.

Aww, thank you Lynne. I love hearing that. Unfortunately we are at a stand still on renovations. We do small things to keep it standing but we think we’re going to move it to another place on the property and build a new home where it stands. It needs a lot of work. A LOT! But I enjoy spending time there and am already looking forward to warmer weather when I can spruce it up again. Thanks for the invite to the tea party! That makes my day. I wish we lived close to each other. I’d be right over! Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Glad to hear my family wasn’t the only one with the fifth-grade fart humor. I’m too embarrassed to even share my Dad’s. Have a great weekend and thanks for hosting!

LOL Marie! I thought we were the only ones. My friends just looked at me with a strange smirk on their face when he’d say it in front of them so I’m glad to hear y’all did it too. ๐
Thank you for featuring my Valentine’s cones and for hosting your beautiful party each week. I meet and find so many other great blogs and treats to try. Have a wonderful weekend.

LOL Rachel, thank you. Can you tell my dad taught me a lot of social etiquette rules? ๐

Me too. We talk about things he did that made us laugh all the time with our kids. Glad you have some fun memories too. Good times all around.
I have to laugh Cindy, your family is similar to mine. My dad was a hoot, and my brother too. They’re both gone now, but the memories are good and Dad always had something “off” to say. Thanks for sharing the silly, I love seeing other families enjoying life. Thanks for hosting, I hope you didn’t get too much bad weather down there. We have about 10 inches of snow here. brrr.

I wish one day we could all get together and just tell funny stories about our families. Our cheeks would hurt.
We got about 3 to 4 inches here but it’s all so beautiful! I can’t imagine 10 inches! That would be magical. The sun is out today but I don’t think it’s getting out of the 20’s so it should stick around at least another day. I love it! Stay warm friend and thanks for always linking up. I adore your posts.
HI Cindy, Oh my gosh great features! I pinned away! Heading back to check out a few of the links to the next party!
Happy Friday! laura in Colorado

Thanks for hosting, Cindy! It’s always such a joy to be featured here at Farmhouse Fridays…thanks so very much! Your Dad story made me giggle too…my dad was a big jokester too! Have a wonderful weekend, friend!

Sounds like a lot of our dads were funny. Moms, not so much. Maybe because they were the disciplinarians? I’ll have to ask my kids about the hubs and I. They’ll probably say neither of us are funny or fun. ๐
Thank you so much for the feature! And you are too silly! But, I love it!
I love your dad’s additional line to the bean song.

He was something else. Happy Friday Paula!

LOL, it’s not my fault. Blame on the real dad. We got 3-4 inches so I’m super excited! It’s so pretty outside.
Your dad’s story was hilarious, so glad you shared it! That desk is jaw-dropping, so beautiful, I want to sit there too! Thank you for hosting!
Author
I know, right?! That desk is beautiful. Thank you for linking up! Those hand-dipped candles… Oh my golly! Reminds me of my favorite field trip in elementary school. We went to the Log Cabin Village, a living history museum and got to make candles like that. I felt so little-house-on-the-prairie with my little bonnet. Loved it! Hope you have a great weekend.
What an honor to see my little secretary desk up here with such an amazing group of blogs! And thank you for the laughs over the beans this morning! ๐ That really had me chuckling!!
