Hello Friends! I’m so glad you’re here because today is day 4 of the week long 2023 Bloggers’ Best Spring Home Tours hosted by Kelly at The Tattered Pew. If you haven’t see Monday thru Wednesday, they’ll be linked at the bottom. And if you’ve hopped over from Pasha Is Home, welcome! Wasn’t her bedroom lovely?! It’s better than a hotel room! My tour is of the dining and living room and I think by adding a little bit of blue for a lively spring tour worked perfect this season!
Adding A Little Bit Of Blue For A Lively Spring Tour!
After what seems like a long winter, I was anxious to move on to spring although I think I feel like that every year. Do you? Anyway, y’all know we have a bright blue kitchen and I’m usually trying to hide it. Well this year I’m embracing it and have added more blue than ever before! Don’t laugh when you see that it’s NOT all that much blue. ๐
Our Spring Decorated Living Room
I began by changing the neutral curtains to a patterned blue. My family was shocked. Me too really. Give it some time and I bet I’m back to beautiful white ones soon.
Right after that, the weather started to warm up and I got the bug. The furniture rearranging bug. The taupe checked chairs are now sitting in front of the fireplace because even though it’s still chilly outside, it’s Texas and if anyone flips that switch and turns on the fireplace we’re going to have a come to Jesus meeting. And I don’t mean singing halleluiah.
Some of the things that don’t change in the living room are the crazy amount of lamps. There are 6. Technically 5 because one sits on the bar in the kitchen but it’s listed on the Hue App as the living room. Speaking of Hue bulbs, they are worth the money. It’s like having a built-in dimmer and if you have Alexa, it usus voice commands. My lazy self loves not walking around turning on so many lamps.
Lamps make my world better. If I could give everyone one bit of advice, DO NOT USE OVERHEAD LIGTING IF YOU WANT A COZY SPACE. It’s amazing how different the vibe is when you use lamps. Well I guess I should also add – lamps with warm bulbs.
I realized when I changed the décor on the hutch that I need more books. Lots of books! Magazines, I have in plenty but not books. I believe I hear a thrift store calling. The little voice is saying buy the big fat books. They take up more space. And I’m shaking my head yes and thanking the thrifty-voice-of-reason for the advice.
The lamb print came from Hobby Lobby. It looks like a painting close up. And you can’t go wrong with lambs during spring and Easter. Actually, why not year round?! They are so cute.
Besides the new curtains, the touches of blue around the living room are from my vintage blue bottle collection and old transformers. They are things I’m not willing to give up or pack away when we downsize one of these days. Heck, by then I bet I have triple the amount! Woo hoo!
Our Spring Decorated Dining Room
I’m having three friends over soon and the luncheon is called Life’s Short, Eat Dessert First. We will have pie first, then a salad so I decided to keep the table simple and decorate the ends of the table instead of having a centerpiece. Makes excellent sense when there’s only four of us, don’t you think?
Keeping with the idea of being a little different, I tripled up the chargers. I love it and would highly recommend. Makes the bunny salad plates look even more festive. Even when the bunnies look like they have a bit of an attitude.
The large pewter salad bowl was a wedding gift. It’s way bigger than it looks in the photo. When I put the spring mix salad inside and use the matching tongs, it’s going to look fantabulous! We’re going to feel so fancy.
Remember that I’m embracing the bright blue kitchen? Well I think if I didn’t add blue to the dining room it would stick out like a sore thumb. Then people would question my judgement. People probably still question it but it makes me feel better anyway. ๐
The dining room got a slight rearrangement too. The extra chairs were separated. One went to the entry by the stairs and one in the corner which is what you see when you walk through the front door. Then the console table replaced the black tea cart. I’m over the tea cart. I think it will go back to the farmhouse and get painted white. The Mister is going to love that. He’s always asking why we have to haul things back and forth. I just say because I’ve changed my mind.
The white frames that hang on the wall usually have white plates hanging inside. They got a little revamp too. I found the little basket with chicken wire, the eggs and the greenery all at Hobby Lobby. There are two frames on the walls so I made two. Each cost less than $10 dollars. The white ribbon came on the plastic bin of eggs so I just cut it in half and reused it. After hanging them up, I stepped back and patted myself on the back for being so crafty and frugal.
Our Spring Decorated Breakfast Room
If you’d like to see the spring kitchen look, click here. This is the breakfast room table. Y’all, the extra eggs fit right inside the demijohn vase! So cute! Up next on today’s tour is Tammy at White Lilac Farmhouse. You’re going to love how she welcome’s spring into her lovely home.

I love all your blue touches for Spring!! Gorgeous! In random news I always battle inside my head with the layout of our living room. But when I saw yours it called my brain. We have the same corner fireplace with a huge window to the side and your furniture layout is the same as ours!!! Hurray and Thank you!!
Author
Girl, I feel your pain. Corner fireplaces are the worst layout. When we looked at this house it was empty and I thought wowza, that fireplace is beautiful. Well as you know, adding furniture is a pain in the behind. Especially for those of us who like change. Glad you visited today Aliya. Thank you and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Cindy,
I am obsessed with those bunny plates! And the chairs in front of your fireplace. So Cozy! XX

Putting the chairs in front of the fireplace was a last ditch effort to have something new and different. And I love it! Thank you Libbie
Cindy, I’m glad you’re embracing the blue–I love it! Your curtains and pretty blue mantel accents especially caught my eye. Pinned! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction

I’m not a huge fan of blue but for some reason the vintage bottles are so soothing yet happy to me. Maybe they remind me of the ocean and the calming sound of the waves? Who knows. Either way, thank you Cecilia. It’s slowly growing on me. ๐
Cindy
I love using blues in my decor and especially the soft touches you used. Great tour.

If I had to choose only one blue to use all the time it would be the vintage bottle blue. Thank you Rachel.
Cindy, I love the pops of blues for spring. The blue and white draperies are gorgeous. They look wonderful in your space.
Author
Thank you Tammy. It was a sleepless night when I purchased those. They weren’t the exact color of the photo online and they came shorter than they were supposed too but all in all, they are growing on me. ๐
Iโm a lamp lover too, Cindy. Loving my new living room lamps in blue. Iโll have to check out that app. If you need books, come over and Iโll give you some. We gave 12 bags to our church library last fall because they are taking over our house.
Author
Whaaaaat?! Yes, I need books. Save me some and when/if we ever get together, I’ll bring a box. And girl, you will LOVE the Hue bulbs and app! Seriously, they make life easier and the room so beautiful! Thanks Carol!
Everything looks so beautiful, my friend. So many lovely ideas.

Great touring with you.

Thanks Cindy. It’s so hard choosing curtains online. They were a different color in the photos but turned out workable. Happy Spring!
Fabulous spring tour Cindy with all your blue additions! The chairs in front of the fireplace are perfect and so are the pretty curtains. In fact I had to scroll back up to take a closer look at the pattern. So pretty! By the way you’re a champion at rearranging furniture! Love this new arrangement!
Author
LOL, thanks for the vote of confidence Michelle. I love rearranging furniture! The Mister will come home and say – well I see you were bored today. ๐ Happy Spring!
I have those same drapes–it took me MONTHS of agonizing to pull the trigger, but I’m so glad I did. The woven (rattan?) bunnies are so charming–where did you find those? And your beautiful vintage blue bottles-=swoon! Enjoyed the tour.
Author
You and me both on pushing the “order” button on the curtains. The bunnies came from Target! At ours, there were still some left along with some chicks last week. Happy Spring Mindy.
I’m a big fan of blue and white so I love your drapes! Your tour looks so pretty, Cindy! Happy Easter!!
Author
Thanks bunches Kim!
Cindy- those blue crocks on your fireplace mantel are gorgeous!! I love how you incorporated this beautiful color all throughout your home ;)- it’s my favorite color!!
Author
I saw that you said it was your fave color in your blog post. If I had that beautiful bedding I’d probably turn into a blue and white super fan. Thanks for the visit Pasha. Happy Easter.
I love the blue touches! And I’m with you as far as lights are concerned – the more the better.CIndy, I love that tablescape! The runner and triple stack of the chargers are perfect for that bunny plate. Those crocks / planters on the mantel are really sharp, love that hue of blue.
Author
Thank you Rita! I found the crocks a couple of years ago and have enjoyed the color. They came in handy last 4th of July! I like the shade of blue too. Not super bright or gloomy. ๐
Cindy I am loving the blue touches you added to your Spring home tour! I especially love the blue curtains. It’s fun to switch things up now and then so I don’t blame you:) You have such a lovely home and it was fun to see it ready for Spring. Thanks for joining me this week!

Thanks Kelly. I am eager to invite someone over so they can see it all clean and springified! ๐ Happy Spring!

Cindy I love all of the blue spring touches! Those curtains in your living room are beautiful! Loved your tour. Happy spring!
Author
I can’t believe I actually bought those curtains but glad I did. Thanks so much.
I’m a huge fan of blue, and your touches of blue look gorgeous Cindy! It’s my favorite color. Your curtains are beautiful! I only wish I could rearrange my furniture like I used to in my larger houses. My cottage is just too small. Your home is so lovely and looks so fresh for the spring season. Happy Spring, my friend.
Author
At the farmhouse the living room is small and is mostly doors so rearranging furniture is quite the challenge. We can’t even fit a normal size sofa in there. We have a loveseat size so I understand. My hubs has asked why I keep rearranging the furniture in there. It’s because I haven’t gotten it likable yet. One day… One day. Happy Spring Kim!
I love the blue vessels on the black mantel with the green and white; so fresh and Springy! Beautiful idea to carry the blue throughout. Wish I could come to your dessert first luncheon; it sounds so fun! Thanks for the lovely tour!
Author
Thank you Lora. Wish you could come to the luncheon too! Goodness me we’d have fun. Happy weekend.
Cindy, I love the bits of blue and the new blue drapes! And the table setting is beautiful – loving those sassy bunnies on the plates. If you need a fourth, my hand’s raised for a “life’s short” lunch any day. So fun!!
Author
Thank you so much Kate! I wish you could come to my little luncheon too. I would love to get to know you better. I feel we’d be the greatest of friends. Happy weekend.
This is a gorgeous home tour. My hubs would move right in, his favorite colour is blue and I always lean towards green for Spring. Gorgeous rooms and very inspiration for me.
Author
That’s funny. If you asked my husband what color he liked, he wouldn’t even have an answer! Thank you for the sweet compliment. Happy Spring!
Everything looks so beautiful, Cindy. I love the blue and turquoise accents. And all the greenery tooโฆperfect for spring! Glad to tour with you. Pinned!
Author
Thanks so much Jen. I really appreciate your sweet comment. And the PIN!
I’m clicking over to see more of your blue kitchen! The color is SO pretty! And I do love those wall hangings you made! My question is… will those eggs be easy to get OUT of the demijohn? That was my first thought! LOL! My sister JUST found all my velvet eggs and speckled eggs in her shed. I won’t be using them this season… ๐ Had to buy a few new ones, too! It’s fine! I’m reorganizing so that doesn’t happen again! Pinned!
Author
I checked the eggs coming out of the demijohn and yep, with just a little poke they fell right out. The hole is bigger than it looks. ๐ Sorry to hear about your velvet eggs.
I’ve done that with dรฉcor before. I get tired of looking at it, have a tiresome day then just throw it anywhere out of the way. Usually have regrets about that each year. But have I learned? Nope. Have a great week Julie!
Hi Cindy – This post is being featured on our Home Imagined Link Party! Thanks for sharing it!
