Hello sweet friends! It’s going to be a fun day today. I am joining Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for a Summer Homes Tour blog hop. Go ahead and put on your sittin’ britches because there’s an entire week worth of tours. So many beautiful posts to pin! Let’s get started with a quick look into 3 bedrooms brimming with countrified charm.
If you’ve hopped over from Follow The Yellow Brick Home, thank you! I’m glad you’re here. Wasn’t Amber’s summer tour so fun? I always enjoy seeing her vintage collections and the way she styles everything.
A Quick Look Into 3 Bedrooms Brimming With Countrified Charm!
When I say countrified charm, I mean these bedrooms have characteristics of the country. Some of them will have repurposed finds, vintage pieces, chippy or rundown things. Dare I say a little unsophisticated? However you define countrified, I find it cozy, comforting and reminiscent of staying the summers with grandparents. Plus down here it’s hotter than a honeymoon hotel so neutral colors like white are what I want to surround myself during summer while I feel the vapors, if you know what I mean.
If you’ve not visited my blog before let me mention that we have an almost 100 year old country home in southeast Texas. We don’t get down there as much as we’d like during the summertime so the decor is simplified, easy to dust and nothing extravagant. Let me show you.
Guest bedroom number one – view from doorway.
For my regular readers, I have something new! Y’all haven’t seen the newest guestroom at the farmhouse. Macy, our middle child, graduated college, moved out and is now adulting. I wish I could say she was adulting at her own place but since becoming a flight attendant, she’s been based at DFW for a short time so she (and her large dog) have moved back in with us at our home in the Dallas area. It’s been so nice having her clean and cook around.
Using what we already have for the new guestroom
I was so anxious to get the rest of her stuff out, I haven’t patched or painted any of the old holes yet. And even though my plan has been a plan for 5 years, I still want to paint the floors white as well. Not a fan of orange floors and one of the other bedrooms has a painted white floor which I love – scuffs, scrapes and all.
Vintage drop leaf table can be used as a bedside table or writing desk.
The mister and I might move into this room. If we do, this will be my desk. I’ll flip up the leaf on the vintage table, add a chair and be quite content. If we don’t move in here, I’ll still add a chair so guests will have a place to write all those Navasota, TX postcards I intend to get. Yep, still on my summertime-to-do-list.
This built-in bookshelf used to be a doorway into the living room. I believe the doorway was closed off about 25+ years ago. I’m glad it was added since it gave the living room the only solid wall in the place but now you enter this room from the kitchen. Macy loved the grab-a-quick-snack-concept so hopefully, guests will too.
If they say anything, I’ll just keep pointing out the old shutter over the bed or the vintage baby bed holding extra quilts or the sewing machine drawers added to their side table or maybe I’ll just tell them to mind their manners, enjoy the view and count the fat cows outside the window. ๐
Bedroom Number Two:
Guest bedroom number two – the Desi and Lucy Room
We call this room the Desi and Lucy room because of the twin beds. It is “L” shaped because they added a half bath many moons ago which means we now have 1-1/2 baths in the house. There’s really no other way to move the beds and I still enjoy the old wallpaper that was hung upside down. I have a chuckle anytime I really pay attention to it. It took me only one visit to notice but I’m not sure the mister’s family ever did.
It’s probably my favorite bedroom in the house even though I can’t really rearrange the beds, it’s more beige than I like and it’s the smallest. It screams farmhouse to me and I get the country vibe when I walk across that painted floor.
Last one of the bonafied countrified bedroom tour.
This is our bedroom when we stay at the farmhouse. It has a queen size bed but fitting in a king size is out of the question. Trying to get up in the bed is quite difficult too. I’m a shorty and the bed is so tall it sits just under my boobs so obviously I need help. I’ve tried looking for a stool but can’t find one I like so until then, the mister gives me his arm to pull up (insert rolling eyes).
Like I mentioned before, because we aren’t here that often, the everyday decor is easy peasy lemon squeezy. I certainly don’t want to spend my days cleaning the place every time we go down. Most things are covered with clear plastic painters drop cloths as we close up and head home.
I hope you enjoyed seeing our 3 bedrooms brimming with countrified charm. Each time I walk in I get a sense of peace and feel comforted. If y’all have any ideas on how to make a second home feel more welcoming I’d love to hear them. And if you’d like to come for a visit, the porch is always open and I’m happy to bake a pie.
Next up on the tour is Shand at Quarters One. You’ll love seeing her cottage! Don’t forget to see the entire weeks tours below as well. You don’t want to miss them!

Thank you Julia. I appreciate that. ๐
All three bedrooms are so full of charm. I love the country accents and that painted floor reminds me of my grandparent’s home years ago. I also love all the details and accents you’ve added to each room, so fun and such inviting spaces. Thanks so much for joining the tours again this season, your home is always a fun place to visit.

Aww, thank you Marty. It’s an oldie but a goodie. I love it when it reminds them of good memoires.
Oh, lucky you have this beautiful second home, Cindy! I love the room with the upside-down wallpaper, it has such a charming feel to it! I’d love to paint the floor in our living room white but the Mister freaks out every time I mention it. (Unlike me, he’s not one for change!). So lovely to tour with you this week!

Your hubs and my hubs are very similar. I mention it and he’s says – why, it’s going to look dirty all the time. One day though I will have my way! ๐ Thanks Jayne.
I loved every minute of your bedroom tour and took in every detail ~ wonderful!! Desi and Lucy titled room is too funny.

Glad you liked it Allyson. We enjoy it but I never think anyone else will. Probably because I like the conveniences of life more than history. LOL. The old house is one tiny step above camping. Thanks for the visit and hope you have a nice weekend.
BEAUTIFUL rooms, Cindy!! Each one is unique and different yet they all still feel cohesive. I love all of the pretty vintage decor and items that you used to decorate each one. What a cozy place to spend a few relaxing days!!!

Because the house is so old, it does feel totally different than home. As I walk in the back door though, it is a comforting, relaxing retreat that is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much Rachel. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
I always love looking at this old farmhouse, it’s such a great place to get away and enjoy. Have a wonderful time each time you stay.

You have no idea how much I appreciate that Marlene. When I see it, I notice all the things that need to get done so your comment makes my day. Thank you so much.
These bedrooms are all so beautiful and truly charming and so welcoming! All of your vintage and country touches are just gorgeous and I LOVE the wallpaper!

Thanks so much for the sweet comment Tamara. I truly appreciate it. I get on IG and keep thinking I should remove it but then I walk in the room and smile. Guess it’s staying a while longer. ๐
I can’t tell you how much I loved the tour of your 3 “countrified” bedrooms Cindy. I really couldn’t pick a favorite, each room has something so perfect about it. I love the painted floor in the Lucy and Desi room so I know it will be fabulous once you tackle the floor in your newest guest room. We took a door out a few years ago between the living room and bedroom and now wish we had made sweet built-in shelving as you have here. Your bedding, the lamps, and every single detail is perfection. Thank you for the inspiration sweet friend.

You made my day Kim, thank you so much! I was told I’m to critical of myself so you seeing somethin you loved is priceless. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Always love hopping with you.
I simply love everything you do in your home, Cindy! These bedrooms all look so inviting, orange floors and all ๐ Also, I’m absolutely crushing on that builtin shelf, it’s just perfect. And laughing about climbing up into the tall bed because this short girl can totally relate. So happy to be touring with you this week! Happy Summer!

I’m happy to know Anne that you can relate to the vertical challenges we have each day. That much needed stool is on my list! Always happy to tour with you two as well. Stay cool!
Love your country farmhouse bedrooms, Cindy!

Thanks bunches Rita. They’re growing on me. ๐
I love that you featured every bedroom in your farmhouse, Cindy. I especially enjoyed what I consider to be my room with the two sweet twin beds. You are correct this is going to take a while to get through all of it, but what fun!
Author
Thanks bunches. I’ve loved each of the tours so far and I’m still only through 2 days worth!
Cindy,
These rooms are all so charming. I loved the shutter and awning over the beds. So cozy and I’d love to come sit on your porch. I’ll share a link on my Sunday Dirt Road Adventures.

You are so sweet Rachel, thank you! I love that post each week so it’s an honor. Hope you’re enjoying your summer so far?!
I love the countrified charm of every room! My mom’s home and grandmother’s home all had countrified KY charm and that’s what I grew up on. That wallpaper is a must-keep! Love the quilts and all the charm of every vintage treasure. Beautiful bedrooms!
Author
Aww, those must be some great memories Amber. I am grateful for so many quilts but think I need more. Need to figure out where to put them first. ๐ Thanks for stopping by and making me day friend. Happy (almost) Summer!
Cindy your farmhouse bedrooms really ARE full of countrified charm! There’s just something about that sweet wall paper that draws me in. If I were a guest I would call dibs on that one LOL! ๐

Thanks so much Michelle. Everyone loves that room. Not sure if it’s the wallpaper, the size or the fact that it has it’s own half bath but we get lots of compliments on it from guests. Laura from Decor to Adore stayed in it once. She liked it too. You should visit sometime and stay in there as well. Wait until we get new mattresses though. They ain’t so great.
Your farmhouse bedrooms are absolutely charming and beautiful, Cindy! The upside down wallpaper room is perfect, but I also love the awning above your tall bed. What a perfect country getaway; I’d want to be there all the time!

I like being there during the fall and winter but the Mister hates the winters. He says that old house is like heating a tent and he hates paying for the propane. Hope you come down to visit someday. Maybe we need a small blogger getaway?!
What an absolutely darling tour! There were so many lovely touches that made me sigh with happiness.

Cindy, your beautiful bedrooms really are full of charm! I love their softness and how you mixed in all the vintage pieces. So pretty!

Thank you so much Shelley. I feel new stuff looks out of place in that house which gives me a good reason to go junkin’! Ha!
Wow! Those bedrooms are so sweet! I love how fresh they feel! Those little awnings above the bed are so clever and adorable!!
Author
Thank you Lori. I was surprised at how cozy they awning and shutter felt over the beds. Glad you could visit today! Hope you have a great week. I
Each room has so much country charm! I especially love the quilts you have in each room. So fun to hop with you this week!

Thanks Kim. I’m a little over protective of the quilts so they only get used every once in a while. But that’s about all we need in Texas. Glad you could visit today. ๐
