Hello Friends!  I think y’all are going to enjoy todays post.  I’m sharing a Pinterest Challenge showing fun ways to use a boxwood wreath.  These beautiful wreaths are a staple around my home and a lot of them are kept out all year round.

If you’ve hopped over from French Ethereal, welcome to County Road 407.  I share decorating ideas from our home in the Dallas suburbs and our weekender life at the farmhouse further south.  You’ll be able to see the posts from my friends down below.

If you’re not familiar with a Pinterest Challenge, we all use the same photo found on Pinterest as inspiration and change it to fit our own specific styles.  It’s amazing how every post looks so different.  This month our inspo photo comes from Courtenay at The Creek Line House.

Courtenay shares how to make your own boxwood wreath so check it out here if you’d like to try it.  Now let’s look at some of the places I use the wreaths in my home.

A Pinterest Challenge Showing Fun Ways To Use A Boxwood Wreath

Sometimes when you hear the word wreath, you automatically think it should hang on a door.  Well, rarely do I have a wreath on my doors.  I prefer using them in places you might not think of.

Wreath idea #1 is plopping it inside a magazine basket.  It helps the container seem more decorative than utilitarian.  Nothing wrong with only having magazines but the bow and wreath are an added extra touch.

Visually, I tend to use triangles to keep the eye moving.  So along with the fresh stems in the blue vase and the added smaller wreaths under the white candle holders, your eye moves from left to right.  Sure, the candles are pretty on their own but with the added green color on either side of the blue vase, everything pops and you notice the entire centerpiece.

When setting a table for guests, I choose a theme and run with it because it’s easy for me to get off track.  With the added boxwood wreaths under the candle holders, it seemed logical to go ahead and stick with that theme.  And placing one under the dessert plate turned out so cute!  It doesn’t raise the plate higher than normal so it’s not going to be awkward or uncomfortable to use.  Win win!

Do you have a mirror around your home that isn’t really used for checking your makeup?  We have this one in the family room that doesn’t always reflect the prettiest of views so it’s perfect with a boxwood wreath on top.  I love the added bulkiness to the area.  Just apply it using a Command Hook.

Idea #5 is to hang as a filler on a shelf, bookcase or on a hutch.  If you like more of a minimal look, simply place the boxwood wreath alone up on the top shelf.  I prefer just a little more so adding it as filler on the bottom where there was so much white space is perfect for me.

That’s it for a Pinterest Challenge showing fun ways to use a boxwood wreath.  Did you see anything you hadn’t thought of before?  There are so many things you can do!

And as a bonus, for those who don’t like using faux plants, boxwood can be the real greenery you need to liven things up!  You can find preserved wreaths online and to keep them looking green, all you need to do us spritz them with water every now and then.  Super low maintenance!

Using the boxwood wreath as a charger is GENIUS! Thank you so much for hosting my friend.

    • July 25, 2023 / 8:21 am

Thanks bunches Laura. The only problem with using them as chargers is that you have to buy so many. I only do the two on the ends for that reason. Guess I’m cheap. Surprise! LOL!

Cute ideas Cindy, I just adore the wreath tucked into the basket! Such a clever way to add a pop of color!

Thank you Michelle. Sometimes it’s to cover up the busy magazine covers too. You know, the ones that don’t match or that show I’m keeping them way past the season and year. LOL! Maybe that’s just me. 🙂

Cindy, love love love all the ways you’ve styled your boxwood wreaths!!! The magazine basket looks adorable with the wreath tucked in! I really enjoyed this challenge and now I feel like moving a ton of things around and putting up more boxwood wreaths.

Love how your house looks! Happy decorating and thank you again for hosting the PC party.
    Big summer hugs,
    Barb 🙂

All the boxwood wreath interpretations are so pretty and fresh. I guess I’ve been conditioned to see boxwood mainly for Christmas, but they work for summer too. Love the idea as a charger on the tablescape!

Thank you Debra. Recondition yourself! I love them all year round. 😉

Thank you Kim. I love that when you pass that mirror you don’t really see the ugly reflection of the TV. 😉

Great ideas Cindy, I’ve never thought of tucking a wreath into a magazine basket!💡That’s a great tip!

    • July 25, 2023 / 4:31 pm

That seems to be the number one favorite. I like to cover up the fact that the magazine is probably old but I’m keeping it for future inspo. 😉 Thanks Cindy. Hope you’re staying cool.

I love the idea of using one under the plate! Obviously I need more of them in my life, since I couldn’t even come up with a green idea for this one! My brain just went a different way (what’s new;). They are a wonderful decor accent to use throughout the year…in every size!

    • July 25, 2023 / 5:08 pm

More is always good. 😉 Truth be told, I only use the wreaths under the plates for the people on the ends of the table. I’m cheap and won’t buy more. I find them to be expensive. Maybe one day I’ll make some. It’s not like we don’t have plenty of boxwood bushes around here. Thanks Lora!
