Hello my wonderful friends! I hope you’ll be excited about today’s post. We are sharing fall decor! Actually focusing on fall mantels. Some of us in the group don’t have mantels so they have fall decorated shelves instead. So smart! If you’re hopping over from French Ethereal, welcome. I’m always up for new visitors! Let’s get the hop started with a delightful autumn print, a harvest mantel and Pinterest Challenge!

A Delightful Autumn Print, a Harvest Mantel and Pinterest Challenge!
If you’ve not heard of a Pinterest Challenge before, here’s the scoop. Each month several bloggers look at the same photo found on Pinterest then transform it into something that works with our style and in our own homes. We don’t just copy what we see. We shop our house first and try to use what we already have. This month’s inspiration photo comes from Janelle Trinette. Click her name if you’d like to see the full 2020 tour.
Janelle Trinette
This may seem a little odd but the first thing I noticed about Janelle’s fall mantel was that the background to her sign is dark. Do you see it? There’s something black behind her sign. That’s what I’m going to use and it works perfectly because for this autumn season, I chose a print from Photowall called Meadow Flowers in black! It’s not an in-your-face-fall canvas print and I think it looks fantastic with the black mantel in our dining room.
When you get a print from Photowall, the instructions make it super easy to put together. I actually felt so professional when it was done. If you want to see how we did it, click here. Once you get one, you’ll be hooked like I am!
The other decor items I’ve decided to incorporate from Janelle’s mantel are: the fall colors, glass bottles, candlesticks and leafy stems all being varied in different heights.
Amber jar and amber candlestick
When shopping my home I realized the glass jars I have are not large enough to hold the leafy stems like Jenelle’s. Instead, I decided to use faux Pampas Grass (at least I think that’s what it’s called) and lay the stems down on the mantel for the fall color. I genuinely like how the amber glass stands out more against the wall color. Clear glass sometimes washes away.
Vintage books help make small accessories more substantial
Something I had to purchase was more vintage books. Out of all the books I have and use to raise the height of accessories, there were only two in fall colors. I don’t even remember where I got these large encyclopedia’s but wish I had more. I could have wrapped my existing books in brown paper or something else but I love old books so why not get more? π
No fall mantel would be complete without some sort of fall flower, leafy stem or greenery. At first I had the entire mantel filled with autumn color, textures and garland. After I thought I was finished, I stepped back and took a quick photo. Wowza, it was a hot mess. I removed the pumpkins and stems in the middle and it calmed down quite a bit.
I highly recommend taking a quick photo of an area once you think you’re finished. It’s helped me out more times than I can count!
The last thing I wanted to incorporate from Janelle’s photo was the centerpiece on her coffee table. I rarely get to use this feather wreath I’ve had for years. It creeps out one of my kids but I love it. And what parent doesn’t enjoy aggravating a kid every once in a while?! LOL. I’ll be nice and remove it if she’s here for dinner but for now, I think it looks great.

Thanks so much. At first I thought a large black print would be too much but I love it. π
Hi Cindy! Personally, I love the feather wreath, but I can see how it’d creep out someone, lol!! Your table and mantel are beautiful and I love your new print from Photowall. <3 My son gets art prints of his photography made and has sent me some as gifts. Lovely to put up on the wall or mantel! Thanks for another great Pinterest Challenge!!
Enjoy your pretty dining room,
Hugs,

Thanks Laura. It is out of the box for me but I am surprised at the impact it makes when you walk in the front door and look to the left. Bam! π I love it.
Wow! Your mantle decor is stunning! What a dun challenge. I would love to join you for a challenge. Hugs and blessings to you.

Awe, thanks Renae. I’ll take stunning! They are a lot of fun. I’ll put you on the waiting list and let you know when you can join. I know that sounds like a restaurant but it’s better… And free!
I love your black mantel and always enjoy seeing how you decorate it for each season. The black canvas looks great for fall, and I love the vintage books and simple decor. That feather wreath has a nice texture to it too. Love it all!

I never thought it would be gross to someone when I found it years ago. I actually love how soft it is. Thanks Angie for putting a smile on my face today with your sweet comment. I needed it.
Cindy
I really love your fall mantel. I see we both used dried hydrangeas which I love. I appreciate you so much for all your hard work organizing this challenge.

It’s my pleasure Rachel but always nice to hear words of appreciation. Thank you!
Great mantel, Cindy. The print from Photowall is beautiful and very dramatic. Love your amber jars. Thank you for hosting every month.
Author
I do love dramatic Carol so that is perfect, thank you. And I’m happy to do it each month. I love PC day!
Wow, Cindy. You did a beautiful job. I love your take on this Pinterest challenge!
Author
Thank you so much Jen. Because it’s so large I find it difficult so I really appreciate that.
Sensational fall mantel Cindy! Love the print so I’m definitely going to check that out. I think I need more substantial books like yours for my small accessories, they really look beautiful on the mantel. You even added a cute pumpkin centerpiece on the table like the inspiration photo. I’m so impressed with the whole look!
Author
You are so sweet Michelle, thank you. When I added the pumpkin centerpiece, I laughed at myself and said “ooo, I’m so extra”. LOLOLOL And we can never have enough books! BTW, I’ll switch the links in the next day for the 25% off discount. I believe it lasts for 2 months. I’m thinking Christmas gifts!
That print is a great focal point and I love the earthy fall colors you used on that stunning black mantel! Oh, and I agree that it’s fun to annoy our kids whenever we can π I do think that feather wreath is amazing and it helps to soften the darker colors!
Author
LOL, we get to give our kids a smidgen of what they do to us! And thanks for liking my wreath Cindy! Found the mantel on the FB market place site. It was a steal!
So pretty and the black painting is such a statement piece. I love the wreath and pumpkin on the table similar to the inspiration pic too. Thanks so much for hosting and inviting us all to join in. Fun challenge.
Author
Thank you Marty. It was hard getting a photo like the inspiration because our chandelier gets in the way. Glad I kept trying. Hope you have a great week.
Hi Cindy,
Love following you & seeing what you’re up to! Your fall mantel is gorgeous. Is there a coupon code available for Photowall? I can’t seem to find it. I apologize if it’s there & I’m having a “Duh” moment.
Author
Thank you Lorie, that makes my day! I will have a coupon code. I messed up the time line and had to post before they sent it to me. I will switch that out in the next day or so once it is emailed to me. I believe it will be good for 2 months! I know you’ll find something you’ll love! I started by liking or “hearting” everything that caught my eye so I didn’t have to try and find it again later. Good luck and I’ll let you know when the code is on the post.
Thank you!
wow, I totally. LOVE that black botanical print. I’m going to check them out!
Author
Thank you Debra. It was hard to choose there are so many beautiful prints. Hope you find one you like. I’ll have a 25% off coupon code if you’d like to use it. I’ll add it to the post soon (probably tomorrow). I messed up the timeline and haven’t received it yet.
I really love that print you picked out, Cindy! I need to try Photowall. It sounds like a great way to swap out decor. The tip to take a quick photo is such a good one. I always find something I donβt like after Iβve done the whole photo shoot! Gah!
I love the feather wreath too, even if it creeps out your daughter. LOL! Everything came together perfectly. Thanks for hosting, as always!
Author
Thanks Crissy. I am always seeing things in the photos that weren’t’ there when I took the picture! They must pop in at the last minute. π Photowall is amazing and I’ll add the coupon code soon. I didn’t realize until a couple of days ago that the link they sent wasn’t for the 25% off.
I think I’m going to add the wreath over Macy’s bed so it’s there for her next visit. LOLOLOLOL!
Very different, but your print goes so well with the rest of what you did. Your feathered pumpkin is so cute, and I think our children need to know we can be stinkers at times. All of the space is so pretty and lovely colors.
Author
It is different that’s for sure. Can you tell I love black? I love black. Black seems to pop. I add black to every room. Did I mention I love black? π Thanks for the visit Marlene. I always appreciate your comments and I agree about being stinkers. I love doing that to all three when I get the chance.
I love your new print from Photowall Cindy! And the black really pops. Every detail is just beautiful!
Author
Thanks Kim. I really appreciate you saying that. Hope you are safe from any hurricanes up there!
It creeps out my kids but I love it!!! I laughed out loud at that one. Loving the black picture. Thank you so much for hosting!
Author
It creeps out one for sure. I was telling Crissy, I think I’ll hang it over her bed for her next visit. LOL!
This is absolutely stunning!!! I adore the photowall choice. Going to check it out. I need something for the lake house and our guest room. The black is so cozy for fall.
Author
Thank you Christy. I’ll add the 25% off code in the next day or so. I didn’t realize the link they gave me wasn’t the discount code. They have so many beautiful prints, I know you’ll find more than one that you love.
Thanks for the Photowall tip! I love what you selected.

Thank you Mary. If you want to check them out, I’ll have a 25% off coupon for you tomorrow. Warning: you may become addicted.

Thank you! I do love those books. Bought even more on a trip last weekend. The Mister keeps asking why I buy so many books when I don’t read them. Men.
