Hello Beautiful Friends!  Today I’m joining in with some very talented ladies and our hostess, Stacy at Bricks ‘n Blooms, for a Christmas Tree Hop so I’m sharing A Christmas Tree That’s Simple and All About Me!   Did you pop over from Bluesky at Home?  Welcome, I’m glad you’re here.  Carol lives about 40 minutes from me and is so gracious.  I love getting together with her.

Stick around and check out the other beautiful trees linked up at the bottom of the post.  You’ll find amazing ideas.  Let’s get started.

A Christmas Tree That’s Simple and All About Me!

Christmas tree in front of stairs

The entry in our home is a bit awkward.  You don’t really see the entire area unless you enter from the garage door which makes decorating a challenge.  I’d like it to be pretty as you open the door but you have to turn completely to the right passed the stairs to see the whole area.

On the left (which you won’t see this time) is the dining room all decked out for Christmas but I’ll share that a little later.   We usually have a pile of shoes on the left by the stairs as well.  I’ve been told I should add a basket for them but frankly, I don’t want to make it all that convenient for my people to stockpile shoes.  Moreover, I don’t think guests enjoy seeing (or smelling) a bunch of shoes as they walk into someone’s home.  We do have a coat closet but really it’s the dog closet and extra stash from Costco closet.

Anyway, on to the tree and all about me.  πŸ˜‰  If you recall, we went on a 2 week road trip in October.  That’s when I realized I wanted to leave Texas behind and move to my new favorite place – Montana.  I loved it so much that I wanted our Christmas decorations to reflect our trip.  As I was pulling out the ornaments and tree decor, I added all the woodsy/Montana-ish decorations I could come up with.  I didn’t want to buy more stuff for a new “theme” but honestly feathers, birds, nests and little woodsy critters would’ve been nice.

Full Christmas tree in front of stairs with fresh greenery and bow This tree is soft and looks so real!

The plan started out great because it began with my favorite King of Christmas 7 foot Noble Fir tree.  It looks just like the trees I saw in Montana so it’s a no brainer – this was my tree.  But when I began pulling out the rest of the ornaments they were so cute.  I love each one and decided I couldn’t leave them in the box.

It was quite a surprise after I’d finished decorating.  I stepped back and noticed it was everything that makes me smile AND I still saw Montana!  The tree was natural, airy and open just like Montana.  It was simple, had a little elegance with a touch of white, just like Montana!  It had pinecones and deer and birds, just like Montana!  But with the cuties I adore like the vintage spoons, forks and creamers it said Merry Christmas to me.  And I can’t do without the crosses because hello, Jesus is the reason for the season!

I didn’t even add a topper because I liked the naturalness.  When I walk through at night I enjoy the tree even more.  It brightens up the entire entry and my insides.  I know for most people this tree would be plain but I love plain.  Plain and simple with a little bit of vintage goodness thrown in is definitely me.  Guess the rest of the family will have to decorate their own trees to get it so personalized. πŸ˜‰

Do you think this is a Christmas tree that’s simple and all about me?  Wait.  Before you answer that, remember, I wanted to bring a little Montana home to us and I described the places we visited as natural, woodsy, open and airy with a touch of elegance.  LOL!  Okay, now you can way in.  πŸ˜‰  Up next is Kim at Shiplap and Shells.  You will LOVE her home and her tree!  Don’t forget to check out the rest of the Christmas decorating ideas.  Just click on each name below.

Merry Christmas Friends!

So lovely! I like the idea of hanging those silver cups and utensils on a tree! I have some tarnished silver downstairs that I could use for a tree like this. You’re so clever. Hope you have a truly delightful Christmas!

Cindy, hey, I miss meeting up with you this year!! Your tree is beautiful and reflects you. I remember after we went to Jackson Hole several years ago, I wanted everything to be super rustic and western. We still have a moose ornament I put on Sweet Shark’s travel tree. The style of your tree definitely has an outdoor look to it. Never been to Montana, but hope to go there one day. Merry Christmas, sweet friend.

Montana is the most beautiful place if you like mountains, streams and trees. I seriously want to summer there! Hope we can get together this spring. Merry Christmas!

Thank you Tammy. I was afraid by scaling down this year I’d hate it but I’m soooo loving the simplicity around here. Doing life like this from now on. Well at least the decorating part. πŸ™‚

The only thing plain about that tree is that it’s just plain gorgeous! I am love with the cuttings and long droopy bow on your banister too! Simple and stunning. Of course I love the vintage goodies on your green and all the ivory.

Man you have me wanting to go to Montana! It sounds amazing!

    Beautiful tree! Merry Christmas!

I hear you! I have ME wanting to back to Montana! Thank you for the sweet comment. I have cuttings all around the house and they were all free. My hubs even brings home a bunch to refresh them each time he goes to Lowe’s. He’s a keeper!

Your tree is beautiful, Cindy! I love the elegant simplicity of it…I also tend to go with a simpler look. If a tree makes you smile, you know you’ve done something right! Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season, my friend!

Never thought of that before but I like it! And this tree definitely makes me smile. Honestly, I would love it without any ornaments but I was outvoted on that. Hope you have a wonderful and blessed Christmas.

such a pretty tree, Cindy. Right now I’m all about a simple tree. at least for me. I so love all the silver spoons, sugar and creamers. I did a tree like that one year and I agree it brought a smile to my face each time I saw it. I’ve never been to Montana, but it sounds amazing!

    • December 7, 2020 / 11:58 am

Thank you Debra. Simple is good this year for sure. I loved Montana because the terrain is so different from Texas. Hope you get to see it someday.

  16. December 5, 2020 / 10:55 pm

Cindy I love your tree and I love that you are keeping Christmas all about Jesus! Your crosses are beautiful and now I am thinking I need a tree just like yours. I have never been to Montana but now I want to go! Merry Christmas!

    • December 7, 2020 / 12:05 pm

Thanks Kelly! If it weren’t for Jesus, we wouldn’t have Christmas! I can hardly wait to go back to Montana, it’s truly majestic. But I live in Texas so the surroundings are quite different. Might be why I love it so much. Hope you have a blessed Christmas.

  17. December 5, 2020 / 11:14 pm

This is so pretty Cindy! I love how you incorporated the silver pieces. So unique and beautiful my friend. Happy holidays!

    • December 7, 2020 / 12:06 pm

I do love me some silver! Will probably do an all silver tree next year. Thanks Kim. Merry Christmas!

  18. December 6, 2020 / 5:36 pm

I love how your tree ended up and I love the story behind it all! It’s fun to see what we have in common too. I don’t know if you know or remember, but I grew up in Texas and my parents moved to Montana 20 years ago so that is my home away from home. We love it there! They are in Whitefish.

    • December 7, 2020 / 12:10 pm

Oh my goodness, I loved Whitefish! I had forgotten that you grew up here. I know now that you totally get why I love it so much. The terrain (and weather) is so different, right?! Hope you have a magical and blessed Christmas.

  19. December 6, 2020 / 10:15 pm

Your tree is so pretty! We both want that King of Christmas tree…maybe next year…it’s just so pretty and natural-looking. Also, love the greenery on your banister>

    • December 7, 2020 / 12:13 pm

Thank you Ann Marie and Anne! I had only taken one photo in the evening because I suck at photography then the next day when I was discussing that with my hubs, he reminded me that the tree comes with a dimmer. A dimmer! I had forgotten and love that about this tree. You’ll love it too when you get one. πŸ™‚

  20. December 7, 2020 / 6:54 am

Your tree is beautiful, Cindy, and I love that you decorated it to remind you of your wonderful trip to Montana.

    • December 7, 2020 / 12:14 pm

Me too Paula. I need to go back just so I can buy Montana ornaments! At least that’s what I told the hubs. πŸ˜‰ Hope you have a blessed Christmas.

    • December 10, 2020 / 10:13 am

Thank you Jennifer. Those are my favorite ornaments. Hope you have the best day!

  21. December 10, 2020 / 6:10 pm

This is such a beautiful tree, Cindy, I love it! All the natural touches and the cross ornaments are so pretty. Plus you know I love all your vintage finds too. You have such a creative way of displaying things. I’m always learning something new from you. Big hugs and happy Christmas, CoCo

    • December 11, 2020 / 8:09 am

Awe, thanks so much CoCo. I’m always learning something from you as well. Hope you have the best day.

  22. December 10, 2020 / 10:01 pm

How unique your tree is. Everything looks wonderful together. Happy Holidays!

    • December 11, 2020 / 8:11 am

Thank you Terrie. It was a minimal decorating year for me. Not loving it but I’m sure I will when it’s time to pack it all up. πŸ˜‰

  23. December 11, 2020 / 8:00 am

I love your entryway tree! How fun to enjoy the prettiness right at the center of your home all day and night:) What a fun idea for a blog hop; can’t wait to see everyone’s trees. Think I need to talk with Stacy about joining you all next time around! Hope you’re enjoying this Merry season with your sweet fam:)

    • December 11, 2020 / 8:15 am

I am enjoying the season so far. It’s weird but you have to walk through the entry or the living room to get anywhere in the house so we do see the trees all day long, no matter what. That’s a lot of smiles! Thanks for popping in Lora. Hope you have the merriest of days.

  24. December 11, 2020 / 2:16 pm

Cindy, I love the simplicity of your tree. It speaks of the Montana I also love! I am not a big theme tree person, yes they are gorgeous. But, I much prefer a tree that reflects the personalities of the people who live in the home! Job well done!

    • December 11, 2020 / 2:31 pm

Awe, thank you so much Pam. I wish I were in Montana right now! The Mister wouldn’t like the cold but I LOVE IT! Give me a fire, a quilt and I’d be happy. Merry Christmas!
