Hello Friends! This week is a Spring Festival Blog Hop hosted by Kendra at Joy In Our Home and my almost refreshed spring porch.
Have you ever wanted to decorate something so badly that you did it before you actually cleaned anything up around it? You emptied the bags, cut the tags and did it knowing all along you’d have to move it again because you couldn’t sit and enjoy it with filth all over the place? But your efforts had you grinning from ear to ear because you knew it would turn out cute and because the Mister wasn’t there giving you the stink eye?
An Almost Refreshed Spring Porch
I hope so because it happens to me all the time. I just can’t help myself. That’s why today’s post is noticeably called an almost refreshed spring porch. 😉
I know the rule. The you-must-clean-and-declutter-before-decorating rule. But a trip to Junebug (the cutest nursery in Navasota) and a bunny pillow from Kirkland’s had me so excited that I threw all that out the window.
Since we get down to Navasota only a couple of weeks each month, we are in need of some serious outdoor spring cleaning. We still need to power wash the house and porch railings and sand and repaint the porch floor. And all that Spanish moss I love hanging in the trees? Well it’s hanging down to the ground so that will need to be pulled out and several broken limbs picked up.
We’ll get to it eventually.
When the seasonal rainy weather gets better. At least I swept before decorating though. You couldn’t even see the gray floor. It was green from all the pollen and tree pooky.
Since the living room has pink accents this year, I decided the front porch should have pink as well. So pulling out the quilt given to me by Grandma Dora was a must. One of these days I should make a cushion for the vintage bed bench but I don’t see that happening unless I can find a no sew cushion project or ahem, maybe one of my dear friends would like to volunteer?!
Finding the cotton and jute rug at the At Home store was perfect for a farmhouse look and the wood block sign above is one of my favorite verses in all the Bible. I doubt it will get put away when the next season gets here.
Use something unexpected
One of my favorite ideas was to pull the vintage baby bed out of our bedroom and use it out here for a serving cart. Functional and adorable! Pink lemonade and store bought snack cakes were an easy addition too. 😉
Well that’s my almost refreshed spring porch. I’m off to enjoy it before the bugs get bigger and the pollen has me looking like Yoda.
Now it’s time to visit my friends below and see their spring inspiration. Each day is something different so find a comfy place to click away and check out all the other goodness!

Easter is my all time favorite season. Not only because of His resurrection but the colors we associate with it. So many bright beautiful colors. Hope you have a great week!
Cindy – your Spring front porch is beautiful…refreshed or not LOL. We love your touches of pink, and that bunny pillow is precious. This porch looks like you will be enjoying visits, tea-drinking and so much more!
Author
Thank you Vicki and Jenn. As a matter of fact, we have 3 separate guests coming down this week and next. I’m looking forward to it.
Oh my goodness….. I’m drooling ….. a glass of that lemonade and a good book…. I’m set!!!! the pink is gorgeous!!!!!!! And…. Isn’t it just like Jesus to reinforce what was spoken by the angels??? Love it!!!!
Author
Don’t you want to sit and have a face to face conversation with Jesus?! I do but you know we’d just be on our faces praising Him instead of chatting. My heart is full just thinking about it. Thanks for the sweet compliments Terri! 😉
I am itching to get out and decorate the porch!!! No green on the trees here just yet! But I think I will be heading out and putting some things out there anyway!!! I will sweep, but that’s it! 🤣
Author
LOL – I wish that was all we needed to do. Hope you enjoy the decorating as much as I do. Glad you stopped by today Tracey, thanks!
I love your porch and your love for our Savior! Blessings!!!
Author
Thank you Debbie! Happy Easter and thank you for commenting – it means a lot.
Love your porch and the baby bed so sweet and adds a super touch. I didn’t realize how much the moss grows. Do you save some to use? If I could I’d grab it.
Still cold here and hoping to plant Violas this weekend. Love their delicate look.
Happy rest of the week

Thank you Cindy. Yep, the moss grows like crazy around here but honestly, our trees don’t look that good. We have some sort of a fungus so we are battling to save the trees. The two in front of the porch are probably over 200 years old. Hope they make it. I use the moss in the bottom of the pots for drainage, use if for mulch on top of plants, have made bird nests out of it, etc. I should really bag it up and ship it out. I think we could supply half of Texas with all the moss.
Wish i could come and sit out on your porch with you, it looks so ready for spring and so very pretty. I too am excited about Easter and what it means to me as a Christian, it fills my heart with such joy and peace. Have a blessed day and thanks.
Author
Thank you Marlene. Wish we could sit together too. We’d have so much fun! Happy Easter friend and sister-in-Christ!
So cute!! I’m anxious to get my deck power washed and ready for spring….but first the 2 feet of snow that’s still on it needs to melt!!
Author
Oh gosh Debbie! I don’t know how y’all stand it. I do love the snow and would love to visit but I want higher temps. Love your home though and your garden beds. Makes me think I could handle the snow for longer periods of time. Thanks for the visit and hope that snow melts son! 😉
Well goodness gracious this is just as appealing as can be. Spring in Texas is always so pretty:) Can’t wait to plant some lavender petunias and hopefully Sadie won’t dig them up!
Happy Spring!

Thank you Jemma! Do y’all still have snow up there? I can’t grow anything but weeds so I’ll take Sadie and she can dig them all up! Happy Spring.
Love these ideas!! Using the baby bed as a drink cart is brilliant and I’m loving all the pink and your grandma’s quilt! It all looks amazing!!!
Author
Thank you Kristin. Pink is my new fave decor color. The mister hasn’t said anything so I’m keeping it until he does. LOL.
Your porch is always so beautiful, Cindy! I wouldn’t be able to wait to do all the decluttering and cleaning either! And yes, that chapter is a favourite too… incredible! Thanks for joining me this week!
Author
Thank you Kendra! Glad you get it. Loved being a part. Happy Easter!
You have the prettiest porch! Love all your spring decor (and that rug is amazing).
Happy day friend!

Thanks KariAnne! You’d love the rug under foot – so soft and the colors are perfect for my porch this season. Happy Decorating!
Oh mercy! I love it out there!!
Author
Well come visit! I’d love it!!!
What a great post Cindy! As always you have me giggling and smiling! I love your approach to everything! Our porch got a quick cleaning when I finally put the Christmas decorations away just a couple of weeks ago! I didn’t do a lot because our pollen-colypse will happen in mid-April through the second week of May. Basically I have to cover all the porch furniture with plastic and pack away any decor in the garage. It is so bad things can get ruined so other than my spring door decor there is nothing happening out there for a month. I think yours looks great already.
I love the story of the empty tomb! It’s what spring is all about! New life, new birth and the ressurrection of Jesus!
So happy to be hopping with you this week. Happy spring!
Author
Thank you Amber. Pollen-colypse?! LOL. We have that too in Highland Village. Tree pookie everywhere. And we have so many trees that we can’t add mulch to the beds until then. I hate it because all the other neighbors can add it. Maybe I have a fear of judgment from them?! Ha! Thank you for the visit. I love hearing from you. 😄
What a pretty porch. In this hemisphere things are starting to cool down so a warm rug will soon be more appropriate!!
Author
Oh yeah! Soon I’ll be complaining about the heat. Ugh. So glad you visited. Thank you Nancy!
You are hilarious! I’m envious you’re able to decorate outside as we still have a bit of snow here. Seeing your very pretty porch with the pops of pink gets me super excited for warmer weather! Happy Spring!
Author
Thank you Colleen. I appreciate the comment and visit – always. I never thought about using pink until this year. Why, I don’t know – it’s my favorite color. Glad the Mister hasn’t said anything. 😉. Enjoy the warmer weather. It’s coming!
Girl, your porch gets me every time! I wouldn’t even notice the lack of cleaning because of all those cute touches! The pillow, the quilt, that adorable repurposed crib…I love it all! It almost makes me want to brave the inch of pollen on my porch to do a refresh!
Author
LOL Cindy! If I can brave the inch of pollen you can too! I love sitting out there and would have never stepped foot outside until I found that inspiration pillow. That made me run home with joy and tackle it. Find your inspiration and do it friend! You’ll be glad you did. Thanks for the visit!
Love your beautiful porch Cindy! Ready for a warm day and a lemonade!! Happy we are together on this hop!
Author
Thank you Karen. I’ll be ready after a good power washing! Thanks for visiting. 🙂
I love everything about your porch Cindy! I love all the pastels and greenery. I’d love to sit there with a glass of sweet day and enjoy the gorgeous view. So happy to be hopping with you this week!
Author
Thank you Michelle! I’d love to sit and sip with you as well. I feel we’d have a lot in common and to chat about. 😄. Happy you got to visit today.

Author
Thank you Kelly. Happy Easter!
Hi Cindy
How I wish I could have had a porch like yours! It just looks so relaxing, a place to unwind after a busy day. I can think of two favorites the makeshift bar/ crib and the bunny pillow. So so cute! Enjoy your your too cute almost refresh porch. Happy Easter!
Author
Thank you Edmee. So kind of you to say. It’s raining here ALL week. Yesterday was 80 and tomorrow it’s back to the 30’s! Ugh! I’m ready for warm spring air so we can enjoy it more!
Your front porch is so welcoming and refreshing. It would be a perfect place to sit and visit! Loved hopping with you this week!
Author

Thank you Desiree. I grin each time I see that pillow. 😉 Don’t you think builders need to go back to building houses with porches? We’d be closer as a community. Happy to hop with you as well.
How I love learning from you! Thank you for sharing all your creative juices with us – you are amazing!
Author
Wow Kelly, thank you. I don’t feel all that creative so you’ve just made my day! Happy Spring
This is absolutely adorable! I love that little daybed and all the cozy accents you added. Beautiful!
Author
Thank you Kristen. I’ll enjoy it if it ever warms up! Glad you stopped by. 🙂
Your porch looks so warm and inviting, the perfect amount of decor- not too cluttered!! Love the dusty pink as well!
Author
Thank you Elizabeth. Pink has been my color at the farmhouse this year!
Love it! I am also a non-sewer. My solution for cushions is to have the one cushion that fits, then wrap it in a seasonal/decorative vinyl tablecloth (cheap one of course) and duct tape it underneath! It really works and if you get the really cheap tablecloth you don’t feel bad about tossing and replacing it!
Author
Well aren’t you clever?! I would have never thought to do that. Which is a surprise considering we use duct tape quite often around here. Thanks for sharing that great idea!
I’m enjoying your blog so much. I’m kinda new here, only a couple of months or so, but today you had me laughing so loud. Tree Pooky!!!!! Is that a thing? Lol. I’m a Southern California girl, ok, well grandma, but I would love to have moss growing in my trees. Anyway, love your blog and your humor, it’s a pleasure to read….thank you!!!
Author
Aww, thank you so much Cynde, that makes my week. So glad you’re here and a frequent visitor! Yes, tree pooky is a real thing. I’m sure others call it something else but around these parts, it’s the poop that falls from the trees when sprouting (insert rolling eyes). Hope you have a wonderful weekend. BTW, the hubs would gladly give you all of our Spanish moss. 😉
