Howdy Folks! It’s crazy that Farmhouse Friday 323 has rolled around so quickly. Where does the time go? On days like this, I think I need to stop sleeping and get more accomplished. Then I remember without my beauty sleep, I turn into a witch and I don’t mean for Halloween.
Before we get started, I have a quick question and REALLY REALLY REALLY want the answer so please let me know. Do you love it, hate it, or is it no biggie to see Christmas decorations up before Thanksgiving? As a blogger, I know it’s difficult to manage your own feelings, the demands of blogging to help readers, blog sponsors, and your own family’s desires. I’m trying to balance it out but need some guidance on just how to do that. Start small is all I can come up with.
FARMHOUSE FRIDAY 323!
How To Turn A Boring Store-Bought Cake Into A Harvest Hit!
If you missed the Pinterest Challenge last week, it’s a must see! I know, I say that every month but it’s true! I’m grateful to have such wonderful, creative friends that want to join me in the challenges. This time there’s no inspirational photo. We did Thanksgiving recipes. No, I didn’t bake an ordinary Italian Cream Cake. I decorated one in less than 15 minutes and now I’m addicted!
Fabulous Features from Farmhouse Friday 322!
This so pretty and doesn’t it look so elegant on her door?! Check out how Michelle from Thistle Key Lane made it. It may be your chance to hang out at the window and get a close up look from the squirrels admiring it too! 😉
Know what this is? It’s an acorn squash! I had no idea but it looks delicious. Hop over and meet Kristy at Air Fryer Fanatics to see how she whipped this up. It even makes me want to try vegetables!
Stephanie from Steph Creates shared her adorable idea. Just look at those little foxes. A festive, fun seasonal garland that won’t break the bank! Totally pin worthy.
Are you needing a last minute easy table decor idea? Check out the DIY napkins from Jen at Midwest Life and Style. Her entire table is so pretty and interesting. Pop in for a look-see!

Hey, Cindy!
Yes as a blogger we are ‘expected’ to have Christmas decor out earlier than anyone else. But, I”m not a rule follower. My husband actually doesn’t like it at all if we just skip over Thanksgiving so I usually start taking down the Fall decor the week of Thanksgiving then, the day after Thanksgiving, I can start going to town on Christmas. Hope that helps! Thanks for a fun party. Enjoy the weekend!

Thank you Rachel for answering! I don’t like skipping of Thanksgiving either. One year the decor was up and it felt like eating two Christmas dinners. :/ So now I begin decorating the rest of the house with Christmas but on Thanksgiving the dining room still looks like Thanksgiving.
Thank you for hosting!

Happy to do it Virginia.

lol. It’s crazy how important it is and I’m an 8 hour girl. :0
Cindy, thank you so much for featuring my DIY ghost napkins and Halloween table. I so appreciate it.
And hear you on the Christmas front. It is hard to strike a balance sometimes. I like your idea of starting small and trust your gut. Ultimately you have to do what feels right to you. The rest will all fall into place.
Happy weekend, friend!

Thank you Jen for answering! It’s my sense of wanting everyone to be happy that puts me in a tizzy. Hope you are having a wonderful autumn season.
Hi Cindy, I’m good with Christmas decor before Thanksgiving, and I’ll be sharing some inspiration posts too, but I love Thanksgiving (as do many) and want to not skip it altogether. So often we’re blasted with Christmas non-stop starting Nov. 1 and I like a balance in what I see and post. It’s so thoughtful that you are asking your readers how they feel. I like to “ease” into Christmas during November, balanceing out Thanksgiving AND Christmas.

I feel already bombarded with Christmas. Maybe I need to stay off social media for a while? I know this year I’m not putting out a bunch of stuff so hopefully that will cause me to ease into it. Thank you for answering Debra, I greatly appreciate it! Thinking I’ll continue a mix through November.
Thanks for hosting a FABULOUS linky party every week Cindy!

Thank YOU Beth for linking up. It’s y’all that make the fabulousness come alive! 😉
I have been in retail most of my life and so it seems “normal” that Christmas is out and available early. I work in a small shop now and my customers will say, “ I am getting a jump on my Christmas shopping”….in September.

You made me miss my retail job. I loved it! The first taste was in the gift wrapping department during Christmas. Later it was helping customers find the perfect gift, helping them put together a beautiful table setting, the cash register… gaaaahhhh, I miss it! Thank you Katherine for the reminder and wonderful memory. Hope you enjoy autumn and the pre-Christmas season.
Thank you so much for hosting us each week Cindy 🙂 I love those little ghost dinner napkins featured, so stinking cute!! Hugs xx Tanya

I know, right?! Jen always has a beautiful table. Thank YOU for linking up.
Thanks for another fun party Cindy! The Holiday balancing act for bloggers is always tough. I was always a strict holiday traditionalist and Christmas did not start until after thanksgiving. But now in my old age I’ve mellowed out 😃 our tradition is to get the Christmas tree the Friday after thanksgiving which now works even better since my kids are in college so they are home to go together to pick the perfect tree as a family. From there the magic opens up. Anway as far as blogging I share Christmas content from previous years and recycle old posts in October & November. I might even start small crafts in November. HTH. I love the tradition you have and choosing a tree when all the kids are home seems like the best! I hadn’t thought of recycling older posts for Christmas. Thanks for the great idea! Have a great weekend MaryJo. 🙂
Those little foxes ARE adorable! I’m taking a break for fall posts, and sharing a DIY and everyday craft. Thanks for letting us share each week, dear friend!

Awesome Esme, thank you!
Happy Friday.
Thank you for the party!
Hi Cindy, I get it–so here’s my 2 cents! As a fellow blogger, I do not mind seeing Christmas decorations after Halloween. I personally start decorating in stages after my birthday the last week in October, but I do feature a Thanksgiving tablescape in November. Even when we attempt to simplify, it’ can still be a challenge to decorate, blog, and enjoy the holidays in a peaceful way. I also want to give my readers plenty of time to create any ideas they like on my blog. Ultimately, I say follow your intuition and do what works best for your family.
