Howdy Folks! After a long weekend of fun activities and of course, some laying around, I need to get back in the groove. Unfortunately, dinner plans is one of those things. Bleh. It seems I have quite the lackadaisical outlook on cooking. Actually, I hate it. Especially in the summer. It’s just to dang hot around here. However, after looking around on my Pinterest Recipe Board, I got a teensy bit more excited. I remembered some recipes that were easy. So, here are 5 Outstanding Recipes That Won’t Heat Up the Kitchen.
5 Outstanding Recipes That Won’t Heat Up the Kitchen!
I don’t know about you, but for me, cooking is an exhausting chore. I don’t like figuring out what to eat/planning a menu and I’m not crazy about going to the grocery store. We’ve tried Hello Fresh and a couple of other meal delivery services but you still have to cook it. Bleh. Okay, enough complaining. Let’s get to the dump-it-and-go dinners. By the way, each recipe is linked back to the original account.
Crock Pot Cheesy Chicken
This first recipe is a winner for sure. Terri at Great Grub, Delicious Treats had me at the word cheesy. She calls this recipe Crock Pot Cheesy Chicken. What I liked and thought was different was the cup of dry stuffing mix. Her recipe didn’t say what kind of onions so I used sweet yellow onions. The secret to a sweet onion is buying flat yellow ones. Not round like a ball. I cooked it just like she said and it turned into a repeat hit.
Parmesan Honey Pork Roast
When you put the word honey (okay and cheese) in the title, I will always check it out. Leigh Anne from Your Home Based Mom shared her recipe for Parmesan Honey Pork Roast. All I’ve ever done when cooking a roast is either smother it in garlic powder (not so yummy) or sprinkled on a packet of onion soup mix (pretty yummy) so even though the sauce is an extra step, it’s worth it.
Crockpot Baked Potato
Ever hosted a party with a Baked Potato Bar? We did this with our church group and everyone brought a topping for the bar. It was so easy that I’ve done it for our family a few times. The potatoes come out fluffy and you can make the bar simple or as extravagant as you’d like. Think out of the box for toppings. Like chili, taco meat, pepperoni, queso with cilantro or even a compound butter! Follow this easy recipe from All Recipes and enjoy.
Fajita Chicken Salsa
Even though I’m a huge Tex-Mex fan, I can’t take the spicy. I don’t like it when my tongue is on fire. Besides being a big hit with kids, the spiciness cooks out quite a bit during the day. Robyn at Real Food Whole Life served hers in a bowl with avocado. We have it with chips and eat it like nachos. It’s one of those light meals that’ll still fill you up.
Grilled Pizza
Last but not least of the 5 Outstanding Recipes That Won’t Heat Up the Kitchen isn’t in the crockpot but out on the grill. This recipe allows for lots of options so even the pickiest of eaters will be happy. Lauren from The Schmidty Wife shows how to grill a pizza outside without having a stone! We all have a great time making our own dough and choosing our own toppings. Raise your hand if you’re a chicken and pineapple kinda gal like me! 🙂
I hope these recipes help if you’re in a cooking rut like I am and if you don’t want to heat up the kitchen.
Happy Summer Friends.
These recipes sound delicious!

If I had to bet… I’d bet $10 thousand dollars that we eat the same 6 things every week with the little variance being eating out. I’m so over it! Hope these help you out. And let me know what you think of the flavors. Thank you Marlene.
So many great ideas for a summer get together ! Will certainly try all of them. Thanks a bunch and stay COOL, Joan……

Nothing like pizza on the grill. It’s been incredibly humid in NJ.
One of the reasons I can’t stand summer. NJ summers are very humid.
We have been making pizza for 25 years.
I come up with delicious different recipes often.
