Y’all know I love all things old, chippy and farmhouse style so can you believe I don’t have an old cutting board? Me either! I found one in Tomball, Texas a couple of weekends ago. Thank goodness. 5 Irresistible Ways To Display Gorgeous Vintage Wood Cutting Boards
I knew this hop was coming up and have been scouring all the shops around me to find a cutting board. There are plenty of new ones but nothing old. When I saw the one I bought (you’ll see it below), the lady said it was vintage but I’m not so sure.
Either way, I needed it, liked the size, shape, weight and color so I’m now the proud owner of a wooden cutting board. Once I listed out and thought about all the things I was looking for in a breadboard I realized maybe it was my being particular that caused all the drama. Yes drama. I think my family was sick of hearing about how I neeeeeded one.
Anyway, let’s get to the good stuff!
Mason and Painter
Hanging on Wall
Now I know you may have seen cutting boards hanging on a wall many times and I agree, it’s not a new idea. But y’all, look at how beautiful they are when you get antique French boards in different shapes and mix them with vintage prints. My jaw dropped open when I saw this.
Apartment Therapy
Hanging them with copper molds isn’t too shabby either. And just think, if you’re like me and have a problem hanging things perfectly straight, this solves that issue! Winner, winner, chicken dinner!

Layering
Yep, another jaw dropper. You may think adding more wood with a wooden table, shelving and counter space would be wood overload but not when you see it like this! You can’t go wrong mixing wood tones and soft yellows and tan to showcase your style.
Layering boards together makes quite the statement even on their own. And keeping like colors together with small pops of green is quite complimentary as well. I love these!

Corralling Them
This charming idea kills 3 birds with 1 stone! One, you keep a collection together and organized by corralling them. Two, by putting them in the kitchen they are handy when needed.

Repurposing Them
When I was looking for a cutting board for myself, I found so many with little legs. Similar to the one in the photo above that’s holding soaps and a dish brush. How cute is that?
Entertaining/Centerpiece
We all know vintage or new cutting boards are great for entertaining – hello charcuterie board. But this time I’m using mine as a centerpiece on our dining table. It’s almost like a cloche. Everything you put under a cloche or on top of a breadboard makes it seem more substantial and important.
If I were to put these things in the middle of the table, by themselves, it would seem a bit random. By placing it all on the cutting board, it seems more planned out and interesting. More importantly, I’m as busy a one-legged woman at a butt-kicking convention during the summer so quick and easy is how I have to roll.

Cindy, your breadboard is the perfect size and shape for so many uses. I love the thickness and heft of it. and using it down the center of your table. Your houses and greenery are wonderful there for a quick and easy all season centerpiece. Great inspiration photos, too. Thanks for getting us all together for these fun hops!

Wow, you rounded up some gorgeous inspiration. But I do love your idea of using them as a tray centerpiece. I saw some amazing antique French ones at a vintage show, but the price was jaw dropping. Maybe I’ll find one curbside someday;) Or make one from some old wood; love that idea. Thanks always for getting us inspired!

I like your idea of wrangling a vignette o. A xutting board- easy to place and remove! I keep all my cutting boards in a WWI ammunition basket beside my counter in the kitchen as a permanent display, similar to Mourish & Nestle. Good ideas, all!
