Howdy friends! I’m excited to share our spring porchette and entry with you today and join Marty from A Stroll Thru Life for the 2023 Spring Home Tours. If you’ve hopped over from This Is Our Bliss, I’m so glad you’re here. I’ve always enjoyed Rachael’s striking neutral color palette. If you’re new here, check out the About Me Page so we can be friends. Are you ready to have a welcome spring greeting that will make you look twice? Oh good, let’s get to it.
A Welcome Spring Greeting That Will Make You Look Twice!
The winters in Texas (at least where I live) are pretty mild but the days can feel gloomy because of the thick drizzly clouds. I need sunshine, green grass. flowers and big trees around me. I’ll even take the allergies that come with it for sunshine. And as you’ll see in the photos, it’s been gloomy lately.
This is our porchette which faces south. In the front yard are 12 large trees which means the front door gets all of the fallen leaves piled high during the winter. Not much of a greeting during winter. It’s nice in the summer because our driveway is mostly shade but in winter, it’s a constant battle trying to keep the leaves out of our entry.
After a good cleaning I began by switching out the metal chairs that usually sit there for these I got years ago from Pier One. The larger chairs really make the porchette seem cozier. Even the kids like it and for them to say anything is a miracle.
Spring decor should always include a bunny!
Thinking the neighbors would like seeing more color, I switched the white pillows for these blue egg pillows from the At Home Store. Goodness, you can definitely see them from the street. They are a little too bright for me. The plan is to live with them for a few days and the assess again. They might be going back. What do you think? Yay or nay?
If you’d like to see the DIY instructions for the springy burlap basket hanging on the door, click here. It was easy and I enjoy that it’s not always a wreath hanging there.
Ever have days when the dogs want to be at your feet all dang day? Today was Summit’s day. He wanted to be outside but everything was wet except under the porch area and I don’t like dealing with muddy paws.
Our entry is wonky!
Our entry is quirky to say the least. I don’t know what to do to decorate above the front door and the door faces the dining room so really the “entry” is behind the door and passed the stairs. Not the best set up.
The positives are that it’s wide, I have enough space for a chair , a table and a few decorations. The antique table found at a junk store was stained dark dark brown so I used oven cleaner on it. That DIY is here and I love the way it looks now. On my list of things to do is add polish or wax so it doesn’t look so dried out. #goals
Give a broken clock new life!
I’m literally smiling right now. I don’t think I’m crafty at all but this is the third DIY project in this post. I loved this repurposed broken clock. Do you have a clock that doesn’t work anymore but you love the shape of the box? Click here to see how you can change it into something you’ll love forever! I exchange the hanging pieces for different seasons. The bunny is an earring I’ve had since the 1980’s. LOL!
For my family, spring means Easter and Easter means celebrating the death of Christ for our sins, His sacrifice and His resurrection on the 3rd day! I’ve been taking pottery classes and just look at this little cutie. Do you see how it represents the tomb with the stone rolled away?! I love it! Sorry I don’t have a DIY to share but you can use regular clay and mold it in your hands to make your own.
Happy Spring Friends and Happy Easter!
Well that’s our welcome spring greeting that will make you look twice. I say that because when you walk up to the front door, there are fun things too grab your attention. Like the wreaths on the side walls, the bunny butt banners, the wooden eggs in the pots and inside the front door basket. Then to greet you inside are the small details like the blue bunnies on the upper shelf, the bunny clock and the clay tomb. And I didn’t even get to the other pottery pieces in the cubby shelf!
Next up on today’s tour is Kelly at The Tattered Pew. You will love her spring home in Colorado. Her style always has me swooning.

Aww, thank you Tamara. I am looking forward to the rain stopping so someone will actually come over and visit! Happy Spring.
Gorgeous tour, Cindy! I love how you decorated your porchette and the spring basket on your door is so pretty. love your poochette too bless him! Your handmade pottery is lovely too, nice to see that you have a place to display it all in the entry now. Happy Spring!

Thank you Jayne. I do enjoy having a cubby shelf to put it all in. Although I think we have enough salsa bowls! The mess-ups are called that. LOL. Happy Friday freind.
Beautiful ideas, Cindy! I love that burlap basket of eggs…so cute! You’re porch and foyer are so welcoming and so cheerful for spring…I have that same huge ledge above my door but I just leave it empty. Mine is just basically a dust collector and a place to throw toys when my kids were little! Thanks for the lovely tour and happy almost-spring!

Girl, I totally get the dust collector area. We literally clean it once a year – spring. LOL! Thankfully from where we can see it from the stairs, you can’t see how thick the layer truly is. ๐ Thanks for the sweet comment. Happy Spring Shelley!
Beautiful porchette Cindy and it’s styled perfectly for spring! You have inspired me to get going on buying new ferns and flowers for our planter. I had to laugh at your title “every spring decor should have a bunny”, and I couldn’t agree more! Love your entry way too, and that darling antique table you updated last year!
Author
It’s true! We all need a bunny or three of four. I love seeing the porchette now when we drive up. It had gone too long with leaves and crap. Happy Easter Michelle.
Your entry is lovely and I love the pops of color you added for your neighbors!!! ๐ The pup is adorable — even though his muddy paw aren’t! Thanks for sharing your beautiful Spring porch & entry!

I’ll tell his momma you said he was cute. He’s a mess but fun to have around. Everyone thinks he’s mean and scary but actually he just wants to lick you until your so slobbery your freckles slide off. ๐ Thanks for the visit Linda. Enjoy your weekend.
I love your empty tomb creation!!!

Thank you Susan. Happy Easter!
So bright and cheery for Spring, Cindy!! I love the pillows…I think you should leave them. Happy weekend!!
Author
Thank you Rachel. Those pillows are so bright though! I still have them (inside, in the bag, with the receipt – LOL). I keep saying it’s only for a couple of months and then I look at them again and say wowza, those are bright!
I love your home and the entry is amazing. It is so large and open. I don’t have an entry at all, so this is impressive to me. You always decorate so beautifully and those larger chairs outside are stunning. I like the blue pillows too. Thanks so much for joining the tour again this season, I always love visiting your home.
Author
Thank you Ms. Marty. I love the larger chairs outside too. Still mulling over the bright blue pillows. ๐ Thank you for inviting me to join in. Happy Spring!
Everything is so pretty and puts a smile on my face. All those cute bunnies and the best was the empty tomb, so glad it’s empty, He Lives!
Author
I think the empty tomb is the best part too. We are so blessed Marlene. Happy Easter friend.
Cindy I loved your tour and I love your pottery piece of the empty tomb! So beautiful…He is Risen! He is Risen indeed!
Author
Amen Sister Kelly! Thank you. Happy Easter.
Your porch is beautiful! I love how you decorated with Easter eggs and little bunnies for the Spring season. I really like that doormat! Thanks for sharing your beautiful entryway! Pinned to save these ideas!
Author
My daughter got the mat for me last year from Target. It still looks brand new despite the heavy use around here. Thanks for the sweet comment and pin. Happy Spring!
I love your cozy “porchette” Cindy! There are so many fun and happy things to take in – it definitely cheers up our gloomy weather around here. I’d definitely come visit! And the entryway table looks fantastic. I’ve always wanted to experiment with the oven cleaner stripping but haven’t been brave enough to use it on anything I have right now.
Author
I understand the apprehension about using oven cleaner. I took me a long while but when I found that little table for $20 dollars, I couldn’t pass it up. The original stain was atrocious so I figured it couldn’t get worse. Keep checking the junk stores and choose something small and cheap. I think you’ll love the outcome and just might become addicted like me! ๐ Thanks for the visit and comment. Happy Spring Kate!
I LOVE the blue pillows Cindy. They are keepers! Such a pretty spring tour.
Author
Thank you Laura!
Okay…I think the blue pillows work with your other bright colors on your porch… just sayin’. Also, I think using air-dry clay for a tomb is a great idea! *I* might just do that DIY! ๐ Always love touring with you, dear friend!
Author
Ditto Julie. Hope you make the tomb!
Your porch is so beautifully decorated and ready for spring Cindy. I’m loving those sweet bunnies and Easter eggs. And the spring burlap basket hanging on the front door is too cute. Happy Spring my friend!

I love me some bunnies and eggs. This is actually the first time in a very long time I’ve had Easter stuff on the porch. Thanks bunches Kim.
Cindy,
Wow, what a great tour. I loved your porch so much, and every detail was perfection. Your home is beautiful and you knocked it out of the park for Easter. Loved the pillow also.

You are so sweet Heidi, thank you. The DIY clock was a fave craft for sure. Although my daughter just said yesterday that she thought the rabbit looked like it was hanging himself. Kids. :/
