Hey there friends. It’s Pinterest Challenge Day and we are sharing Spring Vignettes! I love change and enjoy having a new look in my home every season. What I don’t like is spending the money to get that new look. The stores are full of colorful pieces but I can’t justify spending the money. So instead of always buying (and wondering where to store it) new things, I think mixing old and new decor for a lively spring console table is the answer.

Our inspiration photo is from Leen at Sand Dollar Lane. I love the soft bright colors she chose for her entry table. And the plants are a must for any spring decorating. Here’s what I would like to incorporate from Leen’s photo.
- Similar console table
- Lamp
- Large pitcher with stems
- Plants
- Old blue bottles
- Basket on the bottom
As I’ve said before most of our entry is behind the front door. This is what you see (Dining Room) as you walk inside. At least for spring. I change things up monthly if not weekly. If I’m bored, something gets moved. The table works out well. We’ve used it as a sideboard for desserts, as a plop-everything-down table and for seasonal pretties.
Let’s talk about what I’ve added that is similar to Leen’s spring looking table. First is the lamp. I’ve had this one over a year but you can still get it at Target (linked here). I love the texture and you can choose whichever lampshade you prefer. BTW: When you add a lamp to any table, the lampshade shouldn’t be wider than the table depth. 😉
She also has old blue bottles. I try and use my collection as much as I can. The smallest one is a vintage French yogurt jar. At least that’s what I was told when I bought it. Right now it’s for propagating whatever plant that is. My daughter did this. You know it wasn’t me even though I’m reaping the benefit.
Leen used a super cute pitcher for her stems but I didn’t have one even close to that but she also used white containers in different spots. And since the pinterest challenges are all about changing things to fit our own styles, I used the white pitcher I already had. I found the stems at a Store called The Findery. It’s just down from Magnolia Market in Waco, TX. There are two stores and my fave is the large one where they keep the big furniture.
Something I think screams spring time is greenery. It can be real or fake but you need it. Leen used several pieces of greenery on her table but why not on the wall? These galvanized buckets were used in last years spring mantel. But any basket or bucket will do for adding greenery to the walls. Just keep them light and not too heavy.
So for me, mixing old and new decor for a lively spring console table was perfect. Now it’s time to visit Cindy at DIY Beautify. You’ll love her spring console table! I usually have plates inside the frames but I was excited to have two of something that would work! I realized a while back I needed to start getting two identical things sometimes. I usually get one larger and one smaller etc. Glad it worked out this time. Thank you Christy!

For some reason your comment was in my brain again this morning so I looked back at the photo and just realized what you were talking about! hahahahahaha. The jar is plastic and I got it a few years ago from Hobby Lobby. Doesn’t most of what I buy come from there? 😉 It’s filled with vintage medicine bottle lids. Is that weird? Sorry for the late reply. I had a brain f_r_.
Bummed that I don’t have a sofa/console table anywhere in my home:( But glad we can make these challenges fit our homes! Love bringing out those aqua blue ball jars this time of year! Nice roots:)

LOL, those roots kinda give me the creeps but I’m too lazy to plant them. The only thing I want to plant is flowers in the 2 pots on the porchette and that’s it. Worms creep me out, lizards creep me out, frogs creep me out and don’t even get me started on the possible chance of seeing a snake. My cardiologist advises against all outdoor labor. LOL!

These pops of pale blue are gorgeous, Cindy! They’re the perfect color to transition from spring to summer. I love all the etching on the jars and the way you have the wall vase full of greenery too.
