Spread the love

Howdy Folks!   Are you familiar with the ladies who have a monthly series called Thrifting With The Gals?  If not then you’re in for a treat.  I love thrifting, finding good junk AND reading their posts because they each find the most amazing things!  Back in May of this year I was able to join them with this post but today is The Best of 2022 so today I have 50+ ways to decorate your home with excellent junk!  Doesn’t that sound fun?!

50+ Ways To Decorate Your Home With Excellent Junk!

Do you get a kick out of walking through a field of junk or rummaging the shelves at a hole-in-the-wall store and come across something you like but aren’t quite sure what to do with it?  Maybe you put it back because hesitation creeps in?  Well, the links below are going to help with those challenges.

vintage cart holds flowers

This galvanized cart is one of my favorite things that I almost didn’t buy.  I had no idea what it was.  Still don’t.  It’s quite deep, has 2 large wheels in back and 2 small in the front and none of them turn.  Around the farmhouse it’s affectionately called the Ice Cream Cart.  It’s on display at the farmhouse and has weeds in it at the moment but as had pumpkins and flowers inside.  My plan was to put a Christmas tree in it but we didn’t spend any time down there this year.

Vintage baby bed used as serving table

This is another piece that I saw and thought, well, I don’t have a baby (not that it’s safe for that) so I guess I shouldn’t buy it.  Piffle!  Right now it’s in the guest bedroom holding quilts but I’ve used it as a serving cart several times.  It has also been a place to store decorative pillows.  I can’t imagine not having it!

vintage candle with vintage painting

This is the most recent purchase with another I-have-no-clue-moment.  Anyone else know?  The screw at the top used to tighten something.  Anyway, I thought about using it as a soap dish then thought better of it since rust makes a mess.  It’s holding a candle at the moment but it could also hold a plant, flowers or maybe keys by the door?  So fun!

Hi! That β€œthingie” you have your candle in was used at my great grandmothers to hold a oil lantern. Wished I had hers, it was a fancy black wrought iron.

OH MY GOSH! Thank you Sharon! I would have never guessed that one. Love it even more now!

You know I love a good vintage find and I love all the ways you used your fun decor outdoors. Definitely wanting to do some of this in my gardens next summer.

It takes all I have to talk myself into doing anything outside during the summer in Navasota. Even running through the sprinklers like when I was a kid has no appeal in the armpit of Texas. Even if the thrift stores are hot, I walk straight back out to my car. Ain’t nobody got time for that! LOL! Hope you enjoy it more than I do. πŸ˜‰
