Hello my fabulous friends. I didn’t realize Mom’s Day was this Sunday, May 14th! And just in case it crept up on you too, here are 5 wonderful ideas for the perfect Mother’s Day. When I say wonderful, I mean easy because we all know, if we want it to be perfect, we do it ourselves. LOL! Just kidding. Maybe your family is the opposite of mine and can pull together something special for you. 😉
5 Wonderful Ideas for the Perfect Mother’s Day
Design Improvised
Easy Idea #1 – If you want to decorate a table but not have a full centerpiece (in my house it will be the cake), head to the grocery store and purchase a handful of flowers. No need for a vase. Add a few stems to a drinking glass and put one at each place setting.
If you don’t have a way to make the marker (you really only need one for mom), you can go to the dollar store and buy a Mother’s Day Card and cut the words out and attach it to a wooden skewer. If you don’t have any, snip off the bottom of a plastic spoon and use the handle instead. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy!

Easy Idea #2 – If you’d rather have a centerpiece you can make this 3 different ways. First, you can have a photo of mom printed out professionally (not on your printer) and submerge it in the water with your flowers. Yep, that’s it. Or you can attach any photo outside the vase with double sided tape. Or if you’d prefer the photo inside the vase, add another vase or glass for the flowers keeping the water away from the print. Do this all the way around the glass vase so everyone has a different photo and conversation piece.
Kara’s Party Ideas
Easy Idea #3 – This sign is adorable! Obviously it’s large and in charge but you can make it on a smaller scale too. Simply print it out and put it in a frame or if you have a table top easel or plate stand, use the glass from the frame and paint on whatever saying you prefer. Not a great painter? Print it out then lay the glass on top and trace it before painting. You can also write something out on pretty peel-n-stick shelf liner paper instead.
Sugar and Charm
Easy Idea #4 – If you are like me and love the photo idea, prop one inside individual arrangements. This one is used as a place card. You don’t need a polaroid camera to do this. It would be fun to use any photo without the name and have people find their own photo/place to sit. If you have baby photos that would be even more fun as people try and guess who it is! My advice… Start choosing photos early because you’ll look up from the daydream and it’s been 3 hours!
County Road 407
Easy Idea #5 – How about using moms favorite vintage china as serving pieces? These are holding chicken salad, crackers, nuts, cheese, fruit, etc. Can’t go wrong mixing and matching all those pretty patterns. If you’d like to see more of that post, click here. It also has a fun lemon slice idea.
Hope you found these 5 wonderful ideas for the perfect Mother’s Day inspiring and easy to do. But most of all, I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day spent doing exactly what you want. And that goes for me too! 🙂
