Howdy Friends! I was thinking about Thanksgiving day and thought even harder about how I could make this one a little different than years past. So I came up with 4 Fun Ways To Serve Food on Thanksgiving Day using Gobble Boards! Yep, I’d like to have everything set out on different boards. Much like charcuterie boards but with a cuter name!
4 Fun Ways To Serve Food On Thanksgiving Day
We usually have family over for either a late lunch or dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Depending on what time, we have either breakfast or brunch before the rest of the family arrives. That would be one board. If they come for dinner, we may have appetizers when they arrive which is another board. Then a little later, after Thanksgiving dinner, you’d have a dessert board and then after that, maybe later that night or the next day, you’ll have a leftovers board! LOL, that’s a lot of boards. But totally doable!
Breakfast Gobble Board Ideas
Look at this Bagel Board by Kelley Nan. I’m not a huge bagel fan but this makes me want to try everything shown! It has sweet and savory options to suit even the pickiest of eaters. For less clean up, use paper cups or bowls.
Is it just a southern thing or does everyone like biscuits for breakfast? We love all kinds of biscuit stuffing’s around here and The Baker Mama has them all! I might want an egg over-medium with mine but this looks so yummy!
What are the strange donuts made out of? Weird-doughs. LOL, get it? Okay, that could be lame but serving up a board full of these remarkable creations is not! Of course you could serve fruit and yogurt but it’s a holiday. Maegan Brown (a.k.a. The Baker Mama) even tucked bacon in there. Yep, I think that’s all the main food groups.
Appetizer Gobble Board Idea
It doesn’t get much cuter than a turkey snack platter now does it? Mary at Home Is Where the Boat Is even cut the cheese into leaf shapes! This might be the best tasting turkey you’ll have that day. You never know.
Dessert Gobble Board Ideas
You can’t have Thanksgiving dinner without serving some sort of pie. Well Darcy Miller Designs put together the most beautiful dessert gobble board. I see Pumpkin pie, Pecan pie, Whoopie pies, Apple and Blackberry pies too.
Sandy at the Reluctant Entertainer created a pie dessert board but added homemade spice whipping cream! Um, yes please. The link has the recipe if you’d like to check it out.
As you know, I’m all about keeping it simple. This gobble board by Hoosier Homemade with cookies and chocolate is perfect for that! I’m thinking this one will be gone before it’s dessert time at our house. Better keep it hidden!
The Leftover Gobble Board Idea
I think just about all of us have leftovers after Thanksgiving dinner. So I’m thinking when it’s time to put them all away, I do this gobble board instead. It’s nicer than dragging all the individual bowls and bags out. I can use Saran Wrap and voila, I’m ready to show off how amazing and creative I am when this sucker comes out. So when the games are finished, the football game is over and maybe taking a short nap, I can pull this out and listen to the many praises coming my way. Thanks to The Reluctant Entertainer for the extra love I’ll get from my family.
Well did you see anything from the 4 Fun Ways To Serve Food On Thanksgiving Day you’d like to try? The beauty of Gobble Boards is that they can be made ahead of time and have easy clean up. They’ll be so pretty and the talk of the table this year as well. And I mean that in a good way! Not like Aunt Judy’s olive green dish no one dares to try.
My mouth is watering from looking at these beautiful pictures. It is hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just around the corner.

I totally LOVE your idea for having the grandkids make place cards. What kind of special thing I could use to use as place cards? I am not that creative so thats why I read your blog. I dont want to use just plain colored paper. Any suggestions? Love your blog

Awe, thank you Kim, that warms my heart. Depending on the age of the grandkids, you could try slices of wood, mini pumpkins, flat stones (like river rock), cardstock with traced out hand turkeys, real leaves, cut out faces from photos of the guests, or pinecones to name a few. Hope that helps and thank you for being a reader. That makes my day!
Now you have made me hungry, they all look delicious. This is such a cute idea, thanks and have a great day.

LOL, glad to be of service. That joke will solidify your popularity. ๐ I’m just waiting for the right moment to make the donut board but so far, all my friends want fruit. Cute but not as yummy. ๐ Have a great week!
