Hi friends! Today is another Pinterest Challenge day! This time around, there are 14 bloggers sharing how we all took the same photo and turned it into something that works for us and in our own unique styles. Let’s get started.
The inspiration photo shown below is from Tracy’s Trinkets & Treasures. I like the flowers and how it shows off her door but I felt the metal container would scratch the glass on our door. So instead of just copying what Tracy did, I used her idea of spring flowers and greenery but changed the container.
Spring Door Decor Pinterest Challenge
This is a repost from 2019 for spring inspiration.
Tracy’s Trinkets and Treasures
I purchased the burlap basket at 50% off at Hobby Lobby ($4.99). It comes in a set of 3 but I got the smallest (6″D x 11″ L x 5″H). It’s deep enough to hold flowers but not so large that it would be annoying each time we went in and out of the front door. This will not work if your front door gets wet. But a wicker basket in the same shape would look just as nice.
In order for the burlap basket to work, we needed to make holes in the back so we could attach it to the glass on the front door. Grommets to the rescue. These are so easy to apply and protect the fabric from ripping with extended use. Just follow the instructions on the package. This Mister did these few steps for me. Not because it isn’t easy but because he came up with the idea and wanted all the credit.
Steps to adding Grommets
The Bostitch Grommet Kit is easy and makes a nice clean hole. When he was finished (in like 2 minutes) I went to work on making it more delightful. Figure out how much floral foam you need and stuff it tightly into the container. You may want to hot glue the foam to the basket. I never want anything so permanent if it doesn’t need it because I reuse things way to much for that.
Next, start poking in the flowers and greenery you think look beautimous. I love the purple color with the new color of the front door.
Did you catch that?! After 9 years, I finally painted the front door. Woo hoo! I’ll post more pics of that this week with the porchette refresh. ๐ Anyway, I hooked a couple of suction cups to the glass window on the door and they are holding well. You can use command hooks too if you prefer.
I love how the Spring Front Door Decor turned out. All I need to do for a summer look is pull the flowers and add flags or Bluebonnets for something else super cute.
Now it’s time to see what my other friends have made from the same inspiration photo! Just click on all the names below to see the different looks and great creativity!

I love the idea of a burlap basket filled with flowers and the tag that is on the front of the basket is a charming addition. Using grommets is a smart way to turn this basket into one that can hang. Your freshly painted door with your new door basket is ready for greeting guests this spring! Thanks for hosting this fun challenge. I love your version!

What a cute idea. I’ve never used grommets but I think I need to give them a try. Your front door looks amazing. I had a green front door once upon a time. I loved it. Thanks for hosting this fun hop.

Thank you Amber. It was my pleasure. I am loving the door and it’s new color. It goes nicely with purples. And I’m finally starting to like our porchette a little more (couldn’t get worse). LOL.
I love how yours turned out, Cindy. That burlap container looks perfect hung low on the glass as you did. Like a little window box.
Author
Yep, like a little window box. I love it too. Thank you Tara!
Cindy, I love your version of the Pinterest Pin. Your burlap box is perfect and so adorable. I never used the grommets, wanted to but thought it would be a lot of terrible. Thank you for easing my mind. Love your door decor….and love your front door’s new color.
Author
Thank you Terrie. I used to think the whole grommet thing was hard too but it’s crazy how easy it is. All you really need is a hard surface to pound it together. Hope you find something to make with them.
Love your lavender door decor! Perfect… and where you hung it… it looks so pretty! Great twist on the original photo! Can’t wait to join y’all next month!
Author
Thank you Julie. I hope you can join in next month too. This was a fun challenge and I always try stretching this old brain. Creativity is hard for. This time though I keep looking at the door and smiling.

Thank you Lora. I’m looking for more grommet projects! I never knew it could be that easy.
The container is so cute and with flowers really a beauty for your pretty door.

Thanks Marlene. I am hoping those nasty little green lizards stay far far away. It will be just my luck that one cozies up in there and when I open the door it decides to jump and run inside. That will be a horrible day for me. A horrible day. :/
How clever to add the grommets.”
I also never thought of using the dry foam to hold the flowers in place – I have some on hand and will redo my arrangement using the foam.
Thanks for hosting this fun challenge.
Author
Thank you Carol. You don’t need to use the dry foam though. My flowers would have fallen out because they were top heavy. Your arrangement is perfect just the way it is. ๐
Hi Cindy this is great and love the touch of lavender which is one of my favorite things.
The new color on your door is pretty. I can’t imagine how beautiful Bluebonnets are in person. Pictures are stunning and in person I bet wow.
I would love to see this basket filled with them. Can’t wait to see more of your beautiful porch.
Enjoy your evening

Cindy that basket’s really cute.. are you still using it? I have a basket on a shopping list on Amazon right now, just have to pulled the trigger yet.
When I saw the first comment from Paula in 2019 that was bittersweet.
Author
I agree. I see Paula’s comments several times a year and my heart sinks a little. And yep! I still use the basket. It will be going on the front door this week after I get to the nursery for flowers to go in the pots. Thank you Rita
