Good Morning! Today I’m in a hop hosted by my fabulous friend Amber at Follow the Yellow Brick Home. She’s invited us to share something Easter related from our homes. I’m going to show how I added Easter touches to the farmhouse hutch we have in the dining room. And if you’ve landed here from Laura at Decor to Adore‘s blog, then a big fat hug and a smile. Welcome!
Easter Touches to the Farmhouse Hutch
Have I mentioned how I love old vintagy things and this rickety hutch is one of them? I like the character; the side vents with screens, the drawers that don’t fit perfectly, the latches and even the pattern on the bottom doors. I sometimes move the hutch or angle it or sometimes leave the doors open but this time all I did was move it to a different corner. When we walk in from the kitchen we can see it.
This year I’m keeping the Easter decor simple. I gathered the moss from the trees in the yard, added $3.00 worth of eggs from Michael’s (affiliate link) and a small bush of peachy colored flowers that cost $1.00. I couldn’t resist the sheep mold (affiliate link) from Michael’s either at 50% off but I’m not counting that as Easter because I plan to use it all year round. π
When I saw the eggs, I loved the bright melon and green colors because they work well with the pillows in the living room. You can see that here.
Add a little moss here and plop in an egg. Add some moss there and plop in another egg. Just spread the color out evenly and you have happy spots throughout the hutch.
I haven’t tired of those colors yet. I’m looking forward to bringing those same colors into our bedroom and kitchen. But I won’t start on that until after Easter. It gives me something to do during our next visit.
A definite benefit to having a neutral color pallet at the farmhouse – whatever my color whim for the year, it works. π
I actually removed the silver tray from the bottom shelf after looking at the full picture. It was fine when I had a stack of silver there but now I think it’s a distraction. Sorry I didn’t take another picture. The day turned cloudy and dark. Not great weather for photos. Trust me though, it’s so much cuter! Easter decorating doesn’t have to be expensive or eggstravagant. See what I did there? LOL. Just add pops of spring color.
Now it’s time to hop on over and see Michelle at The Painted Hinge. She’s up next. But you’ll definitely want to visit each of them for inspiration!
Happy Easter Friends!
Cindy,
You’ve got just the right amount of “Easter joy” in your hutch. It looks wonderful. I am so happy to see you appreciating the value in the old wood hutch and it’s pretty features – from the screened panels on the sides to the engraved doors. So, who cares if the drawers are a little lop-sided? I like the colors you have together. I’m getting ready to paint and redecorate my spare bedroom and have chosen the colors of pale coral and either mint green or light aqua. Love them together. By the way, I like the simplicity in your blog name – do you live on county road 407?
Happy Easter to you and your family!
Author
Thank you Barbara. I love the color combo you are goinging with in your spare room. It should always be cheerful even on a gloomy day. As for the name of my blog, yes, the house in Navasota is on County Road 407. Weird thing too is that FM 407 is a main street next to our house in Highland Village. I’ve had people find my blog and follow along because of both streets. π
I LOVE that hutch too! The mold is the perfect accent of sparkle. Just beautiful!
Author
I have a few molds and love each one. It’s one of those things that I have to refrain myself from buying. I should probably try that with other collections too but goodness gracious, it’s hard. Thanks for the visit and sweet compliment Laura.
Your touches for Easter are wonderful and not over the top. Your hutch looks wonderful. The eggs tucked here and there is a pretty color palette. Love them in the cake done.
Enjoy your day

Thank you Cindy. Easter decor is all about the eggs this year for some reason. I think because they were so inexpensive. I like that! Happy you made a visit today.
I love your hutch and you have it styled so beautifully. Your subtle use of the dyed eggs in your different arrangements are so pretty and that sheep candy mold is definitely a treasure.
Author
Thanks Ms. Marty! I love walking by and seeing little pops of color. And I couldn’t let that mold just stay at Michael’s. It was 50% off! π
You are genius, Cindy, with the melon and green color palette combo! I would have never thought to put those pieces together but gosh, they are so pretty. They really pop in the hutch with all your milk glass and other farmhouse finds. Everything is totally fabulous, as always. Hugs, CoCo
Author
You are always so sweet CoCo – Thank you. I do enjoy walking into the room and seeing those pops of color. Hope you have a wonderful week.
Thank you for your posts, I look forward to them. May I ask, where did you get your lamb in your hutch? I love it!
Author
It makes my day to hear you look forward to the posts! The sheep mold came from Michael’s and I believe it’s still 50% off! If you click on the affiliate link in the post, it will take you right to it. Glad you like it. Thank you for the visit Michelle.
The hutch is darling. You have a gorgeous creamware collection. I love the mold! So cute.
Author
Thank you Katie. The hutch used to be an old olive green but I was definitely not getting rid of it. And all the creamware was James’ grandmothers collection. I cherish it. π
Cindy, Your Easter decor in your hutch is perfect. I love everything you placed there. Hope you have a wonderful Easter season.
Author
Thanks Terrie! I am liking the simplicity this year. As I get older, I find it more about the family than the decor. Happy Easter to you as well.
I love the way you decorated your hutch. Those peach flowers really go well with the eggs. As you know, I have the same eggs and didn’t realize how peachy they were until I placed them near my peachy/pinkish napkins. Either way, it’s fun to add some color this time of year, isn’t it? I love that little wreath of yours too. Such a beautiful and festive vignette!

Thank you Shelley. I loved the deep coral color the most! Glad you stopped by today. π
Cindy,
Wow! I absolutely love that cabinet. The black on the inside makes all of your fabulous treasures really pop, I just love the vintage simplicity of it all! Kudos to you for digging up the moss!
Author
LOL Christy. Digging up moss for me is only going out to the yard and pulling it out of the trees or picking it up out of the yard. The Mister says take it all! Iβm definitely doing my part to use as much as I can. π thanks for the sweet comment on the hutch. Itβs greatly appreciated. Hope you enjoy your Easter.
You hutch doesn’t look that rickety to me, but maybe it is the lovely Easter touches you have added!
Author
Thank you Chloe. I appreciate that. Glad you could visit. Happy Easter!
Oh Cindy I’m LOVING your farmhouse hutch! You have decorated it beautifully and I loved getting a closer look at all of your treasures inside!! Those eggs were the prettiest colors! I really enjoyed your post!
Author
Thanks Larissa. I feel the urge to do something else to it. π³. Weβll see. Hope you enjoy your Easter.
I love your spring and Easter hutch, Cindy! Restful and pretty! I’ve decorated with lots of color this spring…and I’m itching to get white back into my hutch! You’ve inspired me!
Author
I know how you feel Linda. Sometimes I want all white and some days I want color. Guess thatβs the benefit being a decorating blogger! We can do whatever makes us smile. π
Cindy, love your hutch and how you styled it with such great vintage items. The hutch provides just the right background. Each of your pieces are so sweet.
Author
Thank you Carol. Sometimes styling it is easy and sometimes not so much. This time going with simple made it easy. I think it turned out pretty cute.
Cindy, your hutch is darling!! So perfectly styled for spring!!! I absolutely love your style, my friend!!

Author
Thank you Emily. So sweet of you to say. Love your style too. π
I literally have all my eggs in one basket, but I prefer the way you have them tucked into vignettes.
Author
LOL. But you have bunnies tucked into cozy places that I just love! Happy Easter Carol
Gosh I really want a hutch! And I want to style it like you do! That pop of the corals is so stunning! Love your inexpensive finds and how they transformed your pieces for the season!
Author
I totally understand what you mean. I enjoy decorating the hutch for different seasons so it needs to be cheap! π Thank you for the sweet comment and stopping by today!
love, love, love your vintage cupboard, Cindy. I have a similar one and you’ve given me so many ideas for display. Was that an old light fixture? so cute with the egg “nests” in each bulb spot. What a great idea to paint the interior back black. love it! Happy Easter!
Author
Thanks so much Debra. The cupboard used to be an olive green inside and out. You can probably see the color inside the door at the glass edges. When I painted it, it was all white. When I put the dishes in, I felt you couldn’t really see them, so black it went. I love it. I found the candelabra at an antique store. Not sure what it was before that. Glad you like it!
Your hutch looks beautiful styled for Easter. I love the colors of the eggs that you used and they look great in their moss nests.
Author
Thanks Paula!
Cindy, I really like the light touch you took to your Easter embellishments to the hutch. Just the right pops of color. It’s already a beautiful piece and I love all the pieces you have curated to fill it.
Author
Thank you Debbee. I really enjoy switching things around and decorating for the seasons.
I love your hutch – it is stunning all decorated up for Easter! I love all the milk glass and all the lovely spring and Easter touches. If you ever get tired of your grape patterned pitcher, you can send it to me. π
Author
That grape pitcher is your mini! I loved seeing yours. But sorry, I donβt think Iβll get bored with it. Thanks though. π. Thanks Michelle!
Hello Cindy,
Nice to meet you. I adore your pretty hutch!!! So many pretty details with and just the right touch of Easter decor. Your collection of vintage china is perfectly at home in your beautiful hutch. Great job styling it all!
It was fun joining you on this Easter blog hop. Wishing you a beautiful spring season.

Awe. Thanks Janet. Itβs a fun piece to have around. Happy Easter.
Cindy, I’m in love with that hutch. OMG, wish I had one like it! I also love the sheep mold. I checked online and it’s not to be had anywhere in the whole state of Michigan.
Author
Thank you Carol, itβs been fun to have around. Sorry about the sheep mold. I always hate that! Check the manufacturer. Sometimes they sell online separately. π
The color of the eggs are darling and definitely invite Easter into your home! I love old and chippy as well. The hutch is darling!
hugs,

Author
Thank you Jann. Simple but bright was the intention this year.
Absolutely gorgeous Cindy, I love every. single. treasure! But I am like, um, sooooo jelly (valley girl voice) of that rusty candleabra! Do you have another post with info about it? It’s amazing!
I agree what neutral interiors are great because we can play with color. If it gets too busy or distracting it’s easy to switch right back to a more calming neutral pallete.
I am regretting not picking up one of those vintage style molds at Michael’s. It’s hard to tell the difference between the new ones and vintage, and yours looks so authentic mixed in with your other vintage treasures.
Thank you so much for hopping with us. Happy Easter!
Author
I know what you mean about the molds. I had it in my basket then put it back then picked it up again. LOL. Thanks for hosting. It was a fun hop! Happy Easter
Cindy,
Eggs and nests are some of my favorite things… all year long. I have Pinterest board for Nests, Eggs, Feathers… π Pinned your green egg in the pitcher.
Happy Easter,
Judith
Author
Awesome! Thanks Judith
Love your coral and yellow eggs, Cindy! Don’t think I’ve ever seen those colors. And I’ve been thinking a lot about sheep for Easter. They have much more spiritual significance for Easter than bunnies, yet I don’t have any. I just have one antique sheep picture in my back entry right now, but thinking I need to keep my eye out for more sheep…for Easter decor! Always good to have a reason to shop for some more vintage and decor;)
Author
Yep, there’s always a good reason to shop for vintage! I am on the look out for more lambs. I think I’d rather have those than bunnies too. Happy Easter Lora!
I love how your styled your hutch! Love the creamware!
Author
I like all the white dishes too. That’s why I painted the back of the cabinet black. So I could enjoy it more. π Thank you Angelina for the visit today!
Cindy, I love your sweet hutch. The pastel eggs add such a lovely pop of color for Easter! Blessings, Cecilia @My Thrift Store Addiction
Author
Thank you Cecilia. Happy Easter!
I LOVE speckled eggs, almost as much as velvet eggs. π Hope you’ll come share at Homestyle Gathering, Cindy! Your decor is just lovely!
Author
Hmmm, I don’t know. Those velvet eggs were fantastic! I’ll try and share soon. Thank you Julie.
This is amazing. I would love it if you would share this on the Fabulous Friday Link Party this Friday. You can find the link on my website, Peacock Ridge Farm. Blessings to you.
