Good morning friends! I’m excited for you to see today’s post. It’s another Pinterest Challenge called Spring is in the air! If you didn’t see the last Pinterest Challenge, you can see it here. More importantly, when you get to the bottom, you’ll want to look at the posts from the other bloggers and see how different each one can look.
They are all unique!
If you are new here, a Pinterest Challenge is several bloggers all using the same photo showing how it can be adapted to your own style to fit with the way you decorate your own home.
Lisa @ASimplyStyledNest is our chosen inspiration this month. Her photo is below and she is definitely one to follow on Instagram! BTW, you can follow me too by clicking here!
A Spring Centerpiece Pinterest Challenge
I love the soft colors, the flowers and all her natural looking elements but, as beautiful as it is, a container that large would overwhelm my table. So, my challenge will be to find something more suitable for my table, my style and my pocket book.
Step 1 is to find your base container. I don’t have a wooden rectangular bowl but I do have trays. After trying the trays, I realized they actually weren’t big enough. Searching the house some more, I decided to use the old wooden piece I had sitting on the mantel. It’s the perfect size for our slim table and keeping it simple is my kind of decorating. Plus, it’s free!
You might be thinking girl, that doesn’t look anything like the inspiration photo. But think about it. I still have a base container (even though mine doesn’t have walls), there are eggs, a type of greenery and a bunny in the middle! All the same elements as Lisa’s photo but a little more in keeping with my own style. π
Step 2 is deciding on your color palette. What works best for my surroundings and decor? This year it’s all about the blues so I found these speckled eggs at Hobby Lobby.
Step 3 is the tall centerpiece. I found the metal bunny at Dollar General for $3.50 but it was a bright pink. All it needed was a little of my favorite Rustoleum Chalked paint and voila, it’s perfect. You can still see the embossing and I can always add a bow around the neck if I want a little more color or added oomph. π
Lisa’s inspiration photo was full of flowers and greenery which brings us to Step 4 – the filler. Instead of spending the money on more greenery or flowers, I grabbed the moss out of the trees in Navasota. My soul we could fill a trailer full and not be rid of it all. And how cute is it sitting inside those vintage jello molds? So cute I tell ya! Hobby Lobby sells moss just like this or if you’d like to come pull some out of our trees, come on by! I’ll help and we can get enough to make some nests too! Made some last year and they turned out great. Check the DIY here.
That’s it – A Pinterest Challenge made easy with only a few simple steps.
I’m loving the simplicity of this centerpiece but most of all, I love that it’s in my style and was inexpensive.
Next is Amber at Follow the Yellow Brick Home and I know you’ll enjoy her centerpiece. Finally, don’t forget to check out the other fun ideas!

Free is good isn’t it?! We decorate so much around here that I cannot justify going out and buying new things at every whim. And I have a LOT of whims. π Thank you Katie!
Super cute centerpiece, Cindy! I like your little metal bunny and the white is perfect with the board. Now I know what you wanted those jello molds for… π Happy Pinterest Challenge Day!!!
Hoppy bunny hugs,

Haha Barbara! I honestly thought when I bought those last year that I’d be using them for a Christmas craft but I’ve already used them twice and love ’em!
Adorable! I like yours better than the inspiration photo. Love the chippy piece of wood and the vintage mold nests with eggs!
Author
Thank you Debra! I thought everyone would think I was crazy for not doing it just like Lisa’s but that’s what this challenge is about! I love it too. Thank you so much for commenting and stopping by!
I love it Cindy! Your soft colors are so pretty! I am headed straight to Dollar General to look for that bunny, I have been wanting one that size for porch.
How awesome that you used free moss from nature. It looks so cute in the little molds with the pretty eggs.
Thanks so much for hosting this fun challenge. Happy spring!

I hope you find a bunny for your porch. I really like it. Especially for less than 4 bucks. Glad you joined. This was a fun one.
Cindy, I LOVE your interpretation! The moss in the vintage jello molds is just darling. Thank you for hosting!
Author
Thank you Laura. You made me smile. I’m a weird kind of interpreter, I know. π
I absolutely adore what you created! My vintage loving heart pitter-pattered seeing your jello molds filled with eggs and moss and I love that you gathered your own moss to use. I’m going to have to shop Dollar General for your bunny. He is so cute!
Thanks for organizing this challenge!

The Mister grabbed a large trash bag full knowing I only needed a teeny bit. Any excuse to get rid of it and he’s on board with smiles. Thank you for the sweet comment. Vintage makes me smile too. π
I like the simplicity of your centerpiece. Sometimes simple is all you need. How fun to have access to this moss. A beauty it must be in nature.
Enjoy your day

Thank you Cindy. I actually love the Spanish moss. It surrounds the house but the hubby can’t stand it. This year with all of the rain, it’s almost touching the ground! I’ll try and remember to take pictures. Hope you have a great week.
Cindy, I love your centerpiece! The muted colors look beautiful on your table and the wood piece is perfect. Centerpieces don’t always have to be “over the top” to be elegant! Love it!
Author
Thanks Benita! Over-the-top went out the window years ago when the kids moved out. With no one here to help me put it all away, I’m over it. LOL.
Cindy, I love your pared down version! Especially the vintage tart molds;) You’re right, you definitely need to size the centerpiece to your table; not every table can handle a huge centerpiece! Thanks for hosting and organizing this fun hop; can’t wait to see all the beautiful ideas!

You are so right Lora. I learned that years ago but sometimes still get carried away. I want it all and have to smack myself sometimes – LOL. Happy Monday!
So cute! I love seeing all the variations, what a fun Challenge!

Yay Jenna, glad you liked it! Isn’t it funny how so many people can see one thing and make it look so different? I love the Pinterest Challenges. Have a great week.
I love your blog! Followed you from a pin I found on Pinterest. Then found the awesome pic where you had jars hanging from porch grate. I have a store at Big Creek Trade Days in Dubach. Your style is exactly what I love! Then finding that you are moving to Navasota, I just had to share that I discovered this wonderful little place on my way from North Louisiana to Round Top a couple of years ago. It is the place where I discovered the cutest little nursery, June Bug Nursery! Hope you have discovered it, too!
Author
I love Junebug and have been there many times. The ladies/sisters that own and run it are so sweet. Navasota has several antique stores that are worth the stop but not many know that. There’s rarely a visit I don’t bring home several goodies. π I’ll be heading to Round Top in a couple of weeks! Glad you found the pin and found me! Thank you Janet for letting me know. Big hugs.
Thrilled I found you!! Thank you for your inspiration!
Author
Actually Gwen, I’m the one that is thrilled! I love that you were inspired. That’s why I do this. Thank you so much for the visit. Come back again!
How pretty your centerpiece is Cindy! I love the board and all your little filled cups. It was so fun working on the Pinterest challenge. Have a great day!
Author
Thank you Terrie. I’ll admit, it was definitely a challenge at first. But once I decided on the base “container”, it came together quickly. I had fun doing it. And I am amazed at how often I find a reason to use those little cups. Happy Monday!
I love how simple and fresh this looks!
Author
Thank you Amy! I like simple and fresh this time of year. Hope you have a wonderful week.
Cindy, I love your take on the challenge! It is simply beautiful and you used what you had, perfect in every way.
Author
Thank you Pam. I always try and use what I already have. You’d agree if you saw the decor closet! Yikes. Thanks for the visit and comment. Much appreciated. π
Wow this is gorgeous! I love your creativity! I really want to do something like this. I love the metal bunny!
Author
Thank you Jennifer. You always make me smile. Send over a picture if you create something similar! I’d love to see it.
I absolutely adore the simplicity! Don’t you just love those HL eggs! You’ve inspired me to do something like this on our breakfast room table. So pretty! Thanks so much for inviting me to the challenge.
Author
Glad you like it Christy! I’m loving simplicity in my life these days. Who knows, I might go back to the crazy and chaotic but for now, I’ll keep it simple. π
Cindy, I absolutely adore what you have made!! The vintage molds with the eggs, on that chippy piece of wood…perfection!!!
Thank you so much for hosting such a fun challenge!!!

Great minds think alike Leslea! Glad you like it. Hope you have a wonderful spring weather week!
So soft and pretty! Love your embossed bunny, and painting it white was the perfect thing to do. And those vintage jello molds! SO pretty! Where did you get those? Anyways, the perfect centerpiece for your home, Cindy! Thanks for inviting me to my first blog hop. It’s been SO fun! Pinned!

This was your first blog hop? No way! Glad you joined and hope you’ll join us again. I got the jello molds at an antique store in Keller, TX. I’ve seen tons since then so I bet they’re everywhere and I hadn’t noticed before. Thanks for the sweet comment and the pin Julie!
This turned out to cute, Cindy. I love the piece of wood that you used. I can think of several placed in my home that it would work if you get tired of it and feel like sending it. π Those jello molds are too darling! Great job and perfect for a narrow table.
Author
Thank you Tara. I didn’t realize when I bought it that it would be so handy. So sorry, can’t give it up. π Have a great week!
IN LOVE !!! Everything looks so cute…love the jello molds…and..remember…our inspiration piece that we choose is just an idea…we never have to match it perfectly…you did a great job.

Thank you BJ. I like being different but sometimes Iβve been known to go too far. π. Iβm liking this though – a lot!
Beautiful tablescape Cindy!! Love the soft pastels! Such a fun blog hop!!! Xo

Thank you Kendra! You can always join us on the next one if youβd like!
Cindy, I love any Easter decor, especially the muted pastel color palette , and this centerpiece makes me happy! I, like so many of your readers, love the bunny! I’m still trying to figure out, after many many spring seasons, how to do a nice Easter centerpiece for a 54-in square table. I have used various themes through the years of birds, white lanterns and candles, pastel tulips, but just have not found the right elements for that square shape. Maybe I’ll use your centerpiece picture for a jumpstart for mine! I really love your blog. Thanks for taking the time to write and include all your beautiful photos and stories!

Thank you Lynn for being a reader (an a sweet friend). That makes my heart so happy!!!
Have you tried a round base? Maybe a round wicker basket (without the tall handle), a round tray, or just a round place mat to start with? Then for spring and summer, a grouping (3-5) different sized topiaries would look great or how about several bottles or small vases with flowers? Don’t think you have to have one tall piece with little things around it. I typically find that look to be difficult to make look un-staged. Let me know if you need some more ideas! I’m full of opinions you know. LOL Big hugs Lynn!
I love the chippy board you used. Seeing it gives me an idea for some old molding I just noticed in the garage rafters.
Thanks for hosting Cindy.
Author
Who gets to say that?! βOld molding in the raftersβ! So fun and jealous. Thanks for the visit Carol.
Cindy, first thanks for being the mastermind and chief Pinterest challenger. Love this hop ~ it really makes you put on your creative hat. Loe the molds turned upside down to hold the eggs! Such a cute idea. The chippy white board is a great substitute for the rectagular wood tray. Painting the bunny was a great way to reuse him for your soft neutral and blue theme. So pretty. Pinned and sharing on Instagram, girlfriend.
Author
Carol, what a nice thing to say, thank you! I really appreciate that. So far I am really enjoying the table centerpiece. Won’t change it until after Easter! That’s one thing off my to do list. Enjoy your week friend.
Where are the bunny plates from?
Author
I got those years ago at Pier One. They might still have them online. Hobby Lobby usually has some too. π
