Howdy Friends, today is going to be a treat!  If you’ve popped over from Joy In Our Home, greetings!  If you love all things Farmhouse and fall then you’re in the right place.  Down below are 20+ other blogs sharing their fall looks JUST FOR YOU!  So much fall beauty!

A Cozy Country Fall Living Room and Bedroom

I’m sharing a cozy country fall living room and bedroom from the house in Navasota today.  It’s finally getting cool enough to enjoy it and feel as if you want to cuddle up.  Before I was all like don’t touch me and where’s the fan.  I need a fan!  Mostly because when we get down to Navasota, it’s all about the work and less about porch sittin’ and idleness.

Sometimes it’s mowing, tree trimming, changing a hot water heater, installing a filter in the pump house, spraying for bugs, digging trenches around trees to try and save them from bugs, or taking an animal to the vet etc. – a lot of work.  I say work, but honestly, all of that stuff mentioned is mostly taken care of by the Mister.

My job is making the house a warm and welcoming place to be.  A place to sit and relax.  To perhaps take your mind off of all the work and maintenance of a home that’s almost 100 years old.  And I LOVE that job!  I relish moving things around, cleaning a few things, seeing how a chair might look in another room.  Oh my, all that tiring work.  LOL

Well this fall, I’m using my abilities to cozy up our little country house starting with the living room and bedroom.  First thing I did in the bedroom was change out the white sheets to a copper color.  That alone completely changes the look of the bed.  I notice the beautiful headboard a bit more even though the colors are so close together.

One of my goals for decorating during the seasons is to keep the spending down.  The Mister might laugh at that statement but it’s true.  I can’t be a good steward of the money God gave us if I throw it away year after year on decorative pillows.  I reuse my leafy garland, the candle rings seen on the lamp shades, the pillows and the pumpkins, etc.  Therefore, next year it will all be moved around.  The pillows will have different covers, the candle rings will be used in a more discrete way and the decoupaged gourds will have new paper.  Keep it cheap!

Can you really ever have too many pumpkins when decorating for fall?  Nope!  My desk sits in the corner of our tiny bedroom but it got some fall lovin’ too.  You can’t see the window on the left but I have a fantastic view of the pasture which could possibly promote less work and a little more dragging of the treat bucket outside and handing them out like it’s Halloween.  I’m certainly not complaining about that and I haven’t heard a complain from the animals either.  πŸ˜‰

During late fall and winter this old house can get chilly (for the Mister and everyone else but me) so we keep several quilts around.  Last year when I got the framed print with the blue truck I knew exactly what quilts would work well with it.  Consequently, having quilts in the chairs benefits me every time I see someone curled up with dirty feet.  Ugh.  Yay for washable slipcovers.

I keep saying one of these days I’m going to recover that blue ottoman but I can’t sew such things and I haven’t found a no sew ottoman cover that will hold up.  Anyone have a clue?  I’d love some advice.  I would trade it for an old trunk but it folds out into a comfy cot like bed for extra guests so I think it will be a custom size.

A Fall Farmhouse tour and blog hop by CountyRoad407.comI hope you found some fall inspiration today.  Like maybe using candle rings in unlikely ways (there were 4 ways just in this post.  Did you see them?) or simply changing out the sheets for a different look or maybe reusing old pumpkins by adding new life to them with decoupage?  πŸ˜‰  Up next is Sand Dollar Lane.  You won’t want to miss her coastal fall tour!  Just click on the links below.  And a big thank you to everyone who visited.  It truly makes my day.

Happy Fall Y’all!

What a beautiful, cozy space! SUCH lovely colours and I love all of the cozy layers and textures!

Thank you Kristi! They are cozy colors and I LOVE them during fall. But I think it’s weird that they are overwhelming to me during the rest of the seasons. Hmmm

The beautiful teal pumpkin and the two that appear to be made of fall leaves and fallen twigs are so clever. The print of the truckload of pumpkins looks just as great now as it did last year over the mantle in Highland Village. You’d think that I’d be used to your clever tricks and beautiful displays, but no. Still astounded (and so proud).

Thank you! I appreciate that and wow what a good memory. I barely remembered where that print was last year. And I suspect, you’d always be the proud mama even if it looked like poop. πŸ˜‰

What a pretty and cozy space! I love all your fall touches!
We just brought our white covered furniture into our main living space from a room that isn’t used often so now I totally get how handy quilts and throws are! I say “get your feet of the couch” about a hundred times a day!

    • September 28, 2018 / 7:38 pm

I totally get that girl! So glad I can wash them! Thanks for the sweet comments too. Happy Fall!

I loved all the elements of your decor. I move stuff around, too. Goes back to the days when I was married to a man who was laid off in the wintertime (construction related job!). Come cabin fever season, there was NO money for “redecorating.” I would put up clean curtains, move the furniture around, put bedroom pictures in the living room and vice versa. 40 years later, I am still doing the same stuff! Now I am making some placemat pillows for my daughter; 2 homemade pillow forms with pillow covers that will cover a variety of seasons–starting with her favorite–Halloween!

    • September 29, 2018 / 1:00 am

Oh Kathy that sounds wonderful. We are kindred redesigner spirits. πŸ˜€. And making placemat pillows sounds fantastic!

This is all really beautiful, Cindy! I love seeing the colors of fall opposite the white furniture pieces. Perfection!

    • September 29, 2018 / 9:56 am

Thank you Stacey! Glad it’s not too over the top. πŸ˜€. Not that I have a problem with that or anything. 😬

Your home looks so lovely and cozy! Your right, you can not have enough pumpkins, lol. I love your desk! I have never seen one like that with a hutch top.

    • September 30, 2018 / 9:45 pm

Thank you Rachel! The desk was my mom’s old breakfast room hutch. You’ve probably seen a ton of them. White legs with fake butcher block trim and top? Nothing a little chalkboard paint and black burlap can’t fix! πŸ˜‰

I love all of the color in your home for fall! It is so bright and happy! Perfect for my favorite season! Thank you for sharing it with us!

Thank you Lindsay. I appreciate that. Sometimes I wonder if I’ve gone overboard! LOL

Your home is lovely. You asked about removable ottoman covers. Etsy has several (or more) people who do ottoman slipcovers of all kinds. I would not recommend burlap for a square ottoman because the fabric wears quickly at the corners.

    • August 28, 2020 / 9:39 am

Thank you Linda! I never think of Etsy and I should, I love handmade things. I will for sure check that out since it’s still blue! And thanks for the great advice on the burlap. Hadn’t thought of that either! So glad you stopped by today. Have a great weekend!
